She Knew When We Met That I Was Homeless, Nigerian Man Celebrate Wife's Birthday by Chilipepper(op): 9:16am On Aug 27, 2025
She knew when we met that I was homeless, wore borrowed shoes and clothes – Nigerian man writes as he celebrates his wife on her birthday.

Dr Charles Apoki writes:

This picture is about 44 years old. It was taken in 1981 when I was 22 and she was 20. We went to visit the University of Ibadan Zoo. We took this Polaroid picture on our way back.

Memories are like diamonds.

My wife knew when we met that I was a homeless stranger; I wore borrowed shoes and borrowed clothes and she was aware.

Why did she agree to marry me?

I even deceived her that I was a northerner, hence Apoki, but she did not bother.

When she first met my parents before they moved to my village, Otokutu, they were living in a mud house at Okere, a ghetto with no electricity, pipe-borne water, toilets. There was literally nothing to excite today's young girls. My father was a security man in Idama Hotel, then, and we used to go visit him in the gatehouse.

Why was she not discouraged?

Please pray for that girl, celebrating her birthday today, that had faith in a homeless stranger, Pastor Mrs. Felicia Apoki, that she will live long to eat the fruits of her risk in marrying a rascal then.

When i Met my husband,he had no single shoe, he was clothed on banana leaf, but i still fell in love with him,and used my natural warri eye guage(gbejero eyes)to guage him and instantly knew he would be great in the future, gbam i quickly accepted his love proposal.

As she dey look into your eyes, make you sef dey look into her eyes say she go make am too o. Success is not only for men.
I get tired of only women believing and sticking with men. Make we sef dey put the expectations on them too. At least, if e nor work, nobody go feel disappointed. Eshe!

A clear case of love being easy when the woman loves you.
Money is needed but the basis of the relationship should not be built on impressing with money.

Women will lie to themselves (if they like you) no matter what. The man was saying he was homeless and an aboki but she dey lie give herself say na cruise.

Lastly, Go out. Your partner is out there. If you are in a relationship too, go out with your partner. It doesn't necessarily mean dinner dates and all that.
They went to visit the zoo. How expensive could that be? Eh? Keep romance alive, doesn't cost much

Dey there dey put things for table.
As you are encouraging your spouse to make it, you sef put expectations on yourself.
This is 2025. If your man grow pass you, there’s the tendency to dump you for someone his class. If you like, take am play.
