You attended a same-sex secondary school. And still went to same-sex university. What nonsense. |

It is good for the promotion of girl-child education and affirmative action. It sends a clear message to fanatics that female western education is here to stay in the Islamic North. Women should also think about campaigning for a female vice president like Bianca in 2031. |

In all you do, never allow a woman to win. If she does, everyone else, including herself, loses. Half of the graduates of this school will be home breakers. Thank God Islam stopped in Edo North. |

Kushites:In the Islamic minds of the founders they are thinking female only school will prevent funication but I'm very sorry for them. Over 80% percent of those students will learn how to give heads within six months. I used to laugh when I see churches that segregate men and women and say, are these pastors so dumb in a world of same sex relationship you think you are helping your daughter by grouping her with other women when she can even turn to something worse than oseloka. |

This is a welcome development. The people ranting against are largely those who follow innocent girls upandan to satisfy their reckless urges. |

When Maryam Abacha first mooted this idea almost 30 years ago, it was pulled down against the backdrop that other universities were underfunded and that the universities are training ground for the larger society. But today, all manner of madness will be permitted and nobody will talk. I weep for the girls who will attend that university. They will be incomplete |

While the establishment of Tazkiyah University as Nigeria’s first female-only university may be seen as a progressive move for women's access to education—especially in conservative communities—some may express concern that gender-exclusive institutions could inadvertently reinforce segregation rather than promote equality. Critics might argue that creating gender-specific academic environments, even with good intentions, risks limiting exposure to diverse perspectives and can perpetuate traditional gender roles rather than challenge them. In a world increasingly focused on inclusivity, collaboration, and equality, education systems are often encouraged to foster environments where people of all genders learn and grow together. Furthermore, while the intent to staff the university entirely with women is empowering in theory, it may unintentionally restrict access to the best-qualified educators regardless of gender—potentially compromising academic excellence for the sake of homogeneity. Additionally, the involvement of a religious leader in founding the university may raise questions about how secular or diverse the academic environment will truly be, especially for students from varying backgrounds or interpretations of faith. Ensuring that the institution encourages critical thinking, open dialogue, and academic freedom will be vital to its long-term credibility and success. Lastly, while donating profits to support orphans is a noble gesture, some may wonder whether the focus should first be on ensuring affordability and accessibility for students—particularly in a country where private universities often remain out of reach for the average citizen. In summary, while Tazkiyah University represents a bold step toward addressing gender gaps in education, its model raises important questions about long-term inclusivity, academic quality, and broader societal impact. |

All these religious movement unnecessary, Nigeria is a secular nation. Religion is personal, there are lots of almajiris to feed, we have enough universities already, why is the seperation of man and woman necessary at the University level. Presidency should focus it's signature and ascent to serious things that will develop Nigeria. Boost production, agriculture, processing of raw materials etc, this is a waste, we have enough universities already. |
