Thanks for the useful tip. I only changed the gear oil when it arrived sometime in March this year. I will ensure I take your advise. Please, can you recommend any reliable mechanic for Nissan in Port Harcourt??

We are liquidating rotors on our IG page and will be posting them over the next few weeks. They are all the last pair and will be first come, first serve. They are Carquest/Advance Auto Parts rotors from the USA for all brands. As I remember I'll post on the respective NL threads. We will also be releasing other parts as we get rid of old inventory to make way for new. Pick up or delivery is available.

Good day. I need Infiniti G35 2007 screen without navigation.
Re: Official Nissan & Infiniti Thread by ophili(m): 8:51am On Oct 24, 2025
Hii, someone should advice, is this a recommended 5w40 fully synthetic oil.
I don't know if mobile 1 has 5w40 oil..

I learnt 5w40 can be used effectively on fx35

Good afternoon Landers,

Please my fx35 infinity doesn't accelerate well after it's heated up, but when I turn it off and on again, it picks up as supposed.

I took it to a gear master to get it scanned, but couldn't detect any issues with the gear, I replaced some sensors like knock, starting sensors, but It still happens occasionally especially when i use it for a long journey.

Can someone recommend a sharp fx35 infiniti mechanic

Scan and post codes here lemme help you out. I'm sure it's gonna be front brake solenoid malfunction code inside the transmission.

Call me on 07068456570. The hitachi electronic throttle body is notorious to act up sometimes after a long journey. If you are the type that diconnect your battery terminals frequently, that would happen.

Good afternoon Landers,

Here’s a clear and professional breakdown of what’s happening with your Infiniti FX35 — and what you need to understand before anyone starts guessing parts or “trial-and-error” repairs.
And also

Before I begin, please note this for everyone posting car problems:

**📌 Always include your car’s full details:

YEAR • MODEL • ENGINE TYPE • TRIM**

Example:
2008 Infiniti FX35 • V6 • AWD
This helps mechanics give accurate guidance and prevents wrong advice.

⚠️ FX35 Not Accelerating After Engine Gets Hot — Full Diagnostic Awareness

1️⃣ Understanding the Symptom

Your FX35 loses power only after heating up, but once you switch the engine OFF and ON, it regains power normally.

This is a classic symptom of:
• Electronic protection mode (limp mode)
• Temperature-related failure
• ECU cutting power due to abnormal readings

It is not a random problem — the car is reacting to something specific.

2️⃣ What Must Be Diagnosed Properly (Not Guessing Parts)

A. Throttle Body / Accelerator Pedal System

FX35 uses a drive-by-wire system. When hot:
• Throttle plate sticks
• Throttle response lags
• ECU reduces acceleration

Restart resets it temporarily.

B. Transmission Temperature & Pressure

Generic scanners CANNOT read:
• Transmission internal temp
• Line pressure
• Clutch slip data

If ATF overheats or pressure drops, the transmission limits acceleration, then restores it after restart.

Very common on FX35.

C. Camshaft / Crankshaft Sensors (OEM Only)

FX35 is extremely sensitive.
If you used non-OEM sensors, they will:
• Fail when hot
• Create power loss
• Trigger limp mode with NO codes

Restart clears it temporarily.

D. Fuel Pump / Fuel Delivery System

On long journeys:
• Weak pump
• Blocked fuel strainer
• Overheated pump
• Failing fuel pump relay

These reduce fuel pressure when hot → car loses acceleration.

E. Coolant Temperature Sensor / ECU Heat Inputs

If the sensor reports wrong temperature:
• ECU retards timing
• Limits throttle
• Car becomes sluggish until restart

3️⃣ Why the Scanner Showed Nothing

Most roadside “gear masters” use generic scanners.
FX35 problems often appear ONLY in:
• Live data
• Temperature readings
• Throttle angle tracking
• Timing sync
• Fuel pressure readings
• Transmission pressure graphs

These DO NOT trigger fault codes.

You need a Nissan/Infiniti-level scanner.

⚙️ Ryan Automotive Workshop Professional Take

We’ve diagnosed this exact FX35 heat-performance issue many times at Ryan Automotive Limited.

Typical discoveries:
• Weak fuel pump cutting out after 40–60 minutes
• Throttle body failing under heat
• Transmission entering protection mode
• Aftermarket sensors causing hot failure
• ATF overheating due to old fluid

All of them showed zero codes on basic scans — the real fault only appeared during:
• Hot-engine live data tests
• Fuel pressure gauge tests
• Throttle mapping checks
• Transmission temp/pressure monitoring

Once the real issue is identified, the fix is straightforward without wasting money.

Professional Summary

Your FX35 does not need trial-and-error or random fixes.
It needs a proper Infiniti-level diagnostic session to monitor the car when it’s fully hot.

That’s how the exact fault will show — and you’ll stop replacing parts blindly.

this is not true. I've driven quite a number of infiniti and Nissan with the Hitachi throttle body for long distance and I can tell you that your assertion is false.

Still liquidating on IG. Lots of old inventory.

I use the same oil. So far no complaint. It's good. I recently changed my engine . That's what I've been using. Tiny light Camry. Use it for Bolt and I change every 3000 miles

Thanks guys for your inputs, I was able to fix it last year, someone worked on the valve body.
I'm just seeing all the responses now...

It's would be nice to keep the thread alive

Front brake solenoid was the problem. The electrical line pin that controls the front brake solenoid on the valvebody was broken and needed to be soldered. That was exactly what happened.

My comment was correct.

I'm enjoying my fx35 but quite thirsty depending on how one drives

What could be the reason why it shifts hardly "making sound like something hit the car" when moving from gear 2 to 3 in slower motion, however one may not notice it much if the pedal is pressed hard

Have you scanned the car to know what causes such?

You need a scan tool to know why it does what it's doing.

Yes I did a scan sometime ago, there are a lot of sensor errors though. But those errors do not stop its operations. Someone drove it and mentioned that it's something from valve body. It doesn't hinder my driving the vehicle though

I don't know if its just me but someone else had also mentioned something about poor lighting for infinity cars fx. My light is fair at night in Lagos roads, but outside Lagos in the highways, I barely see anything especially if another vehicle is coming with a full light opposite you.

Last time I traveled from Ore back to Lag, I had to stop at Ijebu Ode and lodged in a hotel

My 2007 M35X has one one the best headlight systems I've ever had, well a little bit better than my 2008 Accord and way better than my 2007 Camry.

It uses HID for low beams and fog lights and the full beam is very powerful. I rarely drive with full beam. Except I want to blind incoming drivers at night.

Same with the G35 1st Gen 2006. I rarely used the high beams. I used the low beams and once a while I used the Foglamps (the fog lamps use the dame exact bulbs and housing for high beams and they're extremely bright).

Those were when Nissan/infiniti made proper cars.

OH really, I worked on mine and changed the bulbs. Now it's slightly better, but default settings wasn't good at all
