He could have selected it himself during the online check in process. As long as the seat is available, anyone can select it during online check in.

that is where the problem lies, some seats especially those by the door should be for certain categories, I personally dislike being moved to another seat after I had settled into my assigned seat. Even if the seat is bad, I won't find any problem with it as long as it was assigned to me during booking. But being moved, it will only be to business class for it to be acceptable or to somebody with greater need

People that seat by the exit door in airplanes must be physically strong in order to be able to lift the door quickly in case of emergency (the door is quite heavy).

If an old man is seated there, he denies the other passengers the chances of quick escape in emergency situations.

Everybody can see that that is a statement from the NCAA, not any article from any journalist.

Everybody knows why the NCAA did not release personal details or any details that can escalate the matter.
