INEC Online Voter Drive: 1.38m Nigerians Sign Up In One Week, Osun Highest by DrMB(op): 2:17pm On Aug 28, 2025
1.38 million Nigerians registered online to vote in just one week. But why did Osun, not Lagos, top the chart with 393,269 sign-ups?
Is this a sign of rising political consciousness in unexpected places? Or does it expose regional gaps in mobilization and digital access?
And with some states like Enugu (484) and Imo (481) trailing far behind, what explains the sharp contrasts, apathy, technology barriers, or political disillusionment?

Osun has a Govorship election coming up next year so it is a factor.

Lagos will definetly be the second highest as it is the most populous state. Other states will definetly catch up too. You know if things are not almost closing up,Nigerians wont register.

There's high political awareness in Osun State and the high literacy rate in the state is also a factor.

Don’t be too sure. After all this is the same APC that gave us the most unqualified, incompetent and useless president in the name of Buhari and followed up with unqualified and scandals plagued Tinubu.

May Day: Hunger, unemployment, insecurity real— Tinubu

According to him: “The theme demands our collective attention and serves as a stark reminder of the need to create an environment where every worker feels safe, valued, and empowered to contribute to the growth and prosperity of our nation. As your President, I assure you that this administration is committed to creating such an environment for the common good.”

On the economic hardship, he noted that while it is a global phenomenon, its effects on Nigerians are particularly severe.

Tinubu said: “I am aware of the peculiarities of the economic hardship Nigerians face—rising living costs, hunger, insecurity, unemployment, and the loss of livelihoods. These challenges are real and demand definitive solutions, which I am poised to address as your President.

Osun State will always scored high in the Inec registration due to huge inec awareness for close to 3 weeks now about the ongoing online and offline registration of Inec. And if you don't, grassroot people are the ones making huge moves in registering their wards in the ongoing Inec registration. Also there's next year August 8th Governorship election too. As it stands today, Osun people are tired of Adeleke government. Alot of people registering want to remove Adeleke from government as much as possible. Osun people are tired of Adeleke style of government.
