maxchy:You're already on the waiting list? What were the 3 emails you received? People who joined the waiting list in april have gotten their appointments long ago, since February this year. |

Good day everyone Please what can one expect from the airport officers while traveling? It's my first time. Basically what are the protocols or procedures to keep to heart? Thank you. |

shawnmendes:Your admission letter should be printed out. Naija airport is not an issue. Just show ur visa. When you get to Germany, make sure that you are going to the school on your visa and tell the immigration authorities that you are going there. They may ask for your admission letter too. Safe trip |

Enjay1998:Thank you! But I'm not going directly to the school, I'm going to my relative's place. Is that okay? |
| Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by Juggernauts: 7:41pm On Aug 29, 2025 |
Yes, it is okay. Just have all your necessary documents handy, including blocked account confirmation/sponsorship letter. shawnmendes: |

Enjay1998:What about if someone's passport doesn't state the school; they just wrote some things in the corner of the passport for the work permit, and it is not the school I used for my interview, I enrolled in, I enrolled in another school. Will there be any issue? |

For first time travelers to Germany. Please, hold your passport with visa inside. Most times, the school is stated in the visa. Secondly, hold your admission letter too. The immigration officers will ask you where you are going. Even if you intend going somewhere else, tell them that you are going to the school city. If you intend enrolling in a different school, don’t even mention it. They will send you back to Nigeria. I know someone who made such mistake. If they ask how you are getting to the city. Tell them that you will book train or someone will pick you at the airport if you don’t have cash. |

shawnmendes:Tell them that you are going to the school city. Once they stamp you in, you are free to go anywhere |

OluwaTofunmiiii:Please, print the admission letter for the one you interviewed with. Tell them that is where you are going. My friend was deported back to Nigeria for exactly this error. He has to reapply from scratch with a lot of explaining to the embassy and the psychological trauma of touching down in Germany but didn’t enter the promised land. |

I don’t know because I haven’t received any email of such. I can forward them to you via email . |

maxchy:What do the emails say. They send the same emails to everyone, so I'll know. No need to forward them. |
| Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by maxchy: 5:46pm On Aug 30, 2025 |
The first was “appointment in Lagos”: stating my registration to apply for a long term visa (more than 90 days) for students of the category B has been successful. The 2nd was “ Request to confirm my appointment registration in Lagos”. |

maxchy:Wow, did you not have access to the email? |
| Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by maxchy: 5:51pm On Aug 30, 2025 |
Seyoo97:At that time, I didn’t even realize I had applied because someone else handled it for me while I wasn’t around. |

Do they asked for other documents apart from the admission letter, like your school certificate, insurance, enrollment letter and so on at Germany airport Enjay1998: |
| Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by MrAAA2: 9:01am On Aug 31, 2025 |
shawnmendes:It's not advisable to. Though Germany is liberal, it may raise concerns and more questions. For example, if you're going to study at UNIBEN, it's better to arrive at Lagos Airport rather than arriving at Kano Airport because your relative lives there while your study begins soon. If you travel date is close to resumption date, arrive at an airport close to your study region, it makes common sense. However, it's generally not a problem but advisable. |
| Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by MrAAA2: 9:06am On Aug 31, 2025 |
OluwaTofunmiiii:All study visas often clearly state the name of the school. It is read as "this visa is valid for study at the XYZ University, München". Let's stop this hypothetical questions, and do the right thing. You can do whatever you want later if needed. Keep a straightforward application and arrival. |

Fwonder123:No, only if you give them a reason to ask. Carry along those documents just incase. Most don't ask for what you mentioned just your visa and admission letter and sometimes your enrolment certificate. |
| Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by vffur45: 10:30am On Aug 31, 2025 |
MrAAA2:You can't say all and often in the same sentence, the usage is contradictory to your statement. Therefore your information is wrong. That said, stop spreading false information. Only a handful of visas specify these info. Of course if you're going for a PhD, you're tied to that school and that program, if you're on a scholarship, you're tied to that school and the program. Some study visas mention just the program and degree type only, while MAJORITY of students visa issued at the Embassy in Lagos says nothing about your program or school. It just states it's a valid study visa which allows employment according to 16(b). Maybe yours did depending on your visa application category but kindly confirm the information you disseminate before it becomes deliberate misinformation. |
