The policeman in lekki has actually committed a very serious mistake by killing one okada man due to their refusal to give them the okada that they requested for.

In the course of their disagreement, the policeman intentionally killed one of the okada men and this actually led to a great protest in lekki. The people came out en mass to voice out their anger against the ongoing police brutality that is insidiously emerging in the nooks and cranny of the country.

When you hear agbàdorians tell you to hold your governors accountable in Nigeria, this is exactly what they wish you - déath.

There's nothing normal about Nigeria. Give people small power and they will use it to oppress and suppress the next person. RIP to the bike men; Nigeria has happened to them.

I think Lagos is gradually turning into something else as the day goes by all thanks to corruption and hunger ravaging the nooks and crannies of the Nigeria economy.

All hands must be on deck if we truly want to fight this monster pulling us down.

Unfortunately, any locale that wants to progress has to phase out okada eventually!

How do you mean? I live in a community along the Ibeju-Lekki Express Way. This incident actually happened yesterday, 29th August. The road was practically locked down and people had to trek for miles.

The police eventually mobilized and started tear-gassing people upandan. It was not a funny sight.

No one is asking why the police want to seize those okada bikes. The men were Northerners, and there was no record anywhere that they were robbers or involved in armed robbery.

The police along this route glory in extorting poor guys trying to eke out a living by seizing their bikes. Worst of all, the police will REFUSE to release the bikes, no matter how much you plead or offer. The cops then sell those bikes to the highest bidder somewhere else.

Once your bike is seized by the police, just wave goodbye to it, because you will never set your eyes on it again. Just get a new bike. That has been the norm in this area for a few years now.

The Okada rider was never shot by a police officer, the Okada rider was knocked down by a bus. He was stopped by the police and while they were trying to take his bike a bus knocked him down. He was never shot by a police officer.
But like I said Nigerians don't ask questions or think for themselves.

I don't know what it is with police and okada these days. They are majorly out these days not to secure the environment but majorly to extortion. The government of each state of Nigeria needs to caution the Nigerian police from any excesses.
