Funniest thing was that immediately I stopped working there, that was the end of his bookshop cuz he couldn't find any other person who was ready to dance to his tone ![]() |

This is what I call true professionalism. It's all about finding the right work and life balance. In saner climes, they have long since done away with the outdated practice of spending long hours sitting in an office/cubicle/workstation with little personal time left for yourself. In the modern workplace true productivity comes from effective time management and not the drudgery that out of touch Nigerian employers love to impose on their workers. |

God bless you! In this hot climate, some people will now wear suits, all in the name of looking corporate... How does wearing something that belongs to another culture make you look corporate where you can wear your native and look okay. |

This is the new normal. It's just like working from home which has come to stay. The earlier the 'older bosses' adapt, the better for their businesses |

That's is good but what delivers the huge result might not be related to how simple he made it sound. Where are the impromptu meetings? The overtime deliverables? And all sort of. Gen Z doesn't exist anywhere, it's all human made to create a viral niche. |

LordReed:Well said. One of the things that disgusts me the most for we lawyers is the wig and gown. It is such a ridiculous colonial outfit especially in this weather. In most court rooms, lawyers sit like Christmas goats while wearing a garb meant for European courts of centuries gone by. It is sickening. I intend to present a petition to the Bar Association to start the process to drop it. |

Person tell you say him dey run marketing and advertising company and you didn't stop to think he's marketing to you with lamba. He's good sha, he got the attention. You say your are the top number 3 advertising agency in Nigeria. Lol... I guess your competitors are playing with sand while your workers are arriving work at 10am and sleeping on the job. Shift Abeg! If you say you are #3, I assume you have high paying, highly demanding clients with crazy work in the pipeline every single day. How does your company meet deadline with all the nonsense you listed? Those agency ahead of your and those competing with don't do overtime I guess. I won't have blink an eye if he didn't claim his company is the top #3 marketing agency. I'd have just assume they are just cruising in his company and sooner or later body go tell am. |

Work flow will be much better in this our generation, bosses go learn to respect staff, because if u do any how ur worker fit resign buy GLE in the next 3 months of active personal work. My bro tell me say the day em tell em boss say em wan resign go chase em dream, the man told him, that he's always welcome to work with them anytime he changes his mind. Na so life suppose be, and sooner Nigerian bosses go learn say man no be Jacky. |

Unrelated to this GEN Z thread... I kicked off my career in one of the top financial institutions. We resumed at 7:20am sharp, and you don’t close until the vault balances - technically, there was no closing time. You fit enter branch by 8pm, all man go dey face computer like the day just started. Dress code? Non-negotiable. Strictly blue or grey suits, paired with white or blue shirts, with black shoes. Two Saturdays every month were always taken from you either for one training, Monthly Review or ATM monitoring. The environment? Fast-paced, unpredictable, and unforgiving. One minute you’re in operations, the next you’re shipped to another department—no notice, no excuses. And you’re expected to perform like a pro in weeks. Targets were wild: ATM cards, Internet Banking, account reactivations, deposit mobilisation, and even shares. Imagine being in operations and still having a deposit target! 😅 Truth is, I hated that job. The atmosphere was always “hot,” even with the AC blasting. But looking back, it shaped me. It was a battlefield that drilled you, stretched you, and squeezed out your best. If you could survive there, you could survive anywhere. If you could make it there, you could make it anywhere. That place was tough… but it made me tougher. I always stood out among my peers in all the other organisations that I joined afterwards. My commitment to work, passion for getting things done, dedication, dressing, my carriage, customer service skills, email/telephone etiquette, etc. Sometimes.. It's good to start your career like a soldier! Awoooooooooooooooooooooo! |

Whatever you are doing in this life, always remember your God. The day of Judgement is definitely coming for everyone. Jesus is the only way. Have you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Personal saviour? |
