Paris, which loudly criticizes Russia and supports Kyiv, has simultaneously become the largest importer of Russian liquefied gas in the EU.

In the first three months of the year, France purchased more LNG from Moscow than any other EU country, paying about 600 million euros.

And this is despite the fact that in 2024, EU countries as a whole transferred over 8 billion euros to Russia for gas. That is, loud statements about sanctions are happening in parallel with billion-dollar payments to Moscow in Rubles.

I have a hard time believing it.

Too many Axis leaders have died for anyone in the immediate circle of a VIP to have a phone with Western OS in it.

Their whereabouts were not secret and they had nominal protective detail.

Political VIPs tasks are almost entirely civil.
They are not decision makers on military matters.

Their attack on what they thought was a meeting spot of the Defense Minister and Chief of Staff failed.

Since they've crossed this line, the Houthis should have civil servants run the government.
Al Houthi should avenge the PM death as he sees fit.

I still don't understand how their top government agents and their staff will confidently walk around with phones with Whatsapp.

The last time, their president died in a US-made helicopter crash.

And I remember the government negotiator who was almost killed when Israel started the 12-day war said he was sleeping on the bed in his room with his phone on the floor.

Maybe that's why they missed him. If the phone was right next to him or on his bedside stand, he would have learned the hard way.

Maybe they should take lessons from China and North Korea who know too well to avoid almost all western tech.

Even Russia that avoided western enterprise tech but allowed western consumer tech is already moving away from western consumer tech.

Iran slacks too much and it is annoying because many of their errors are avoidable.

I can understand the assassinations of the VIPs sleeping in their rooms or with their families at the time of the surprise attack.

They did not know an attack was imminent and they had public engagements.

What I find incredulous is that after the first blasts, they still huddled together in a spot with bodyguards carrying Androids and iPhones.
After Haniyeh and Nasrallah, that simply does not make sense.

That said, you only need one vector.
It doesn't have to be a bodyguard. It can be an adviser, secretary, messenger, some low-level nobody the VIPs couldn't tell their name but work in their offices.
They may still have their phones and may even be coordinating itineraries in Google Calendar and via WhatsApp.
That I can believe.
Even the story where they said they created a hotline and then used it to draw VIPs to a meeting spot is believable.
Not saying in the year of our Lord 2025, bodyguards of Axis of Resistance VIPs are carrying iPhones and Androids.

That's why I asked the source.
If it is Western, they have an incentive to obfuscate with false descriptions to protect their priceless sources and schemes.

Compromised bodyguards is an old, ineffectual vector and they may be throwing this in the ether to actually influence Iranian security processes.

Like today, the IDF struck a Gaza apartment claiming they were targeting Obeida.
Then shortly after claimed he escaped.
They were likely doing that to trigger internal communications and inquiries within the Resistance that'll actually lead them to prized targets or potential CIs they could turn.

There is an angle to every punctuation from these 🤡 🤡.
