GloriousGbola:Thanks for the add. The financial literacy around the country is at an all time low that people tend not to know how things work. Most times, I think it’s just hate, envy and jealousy. These people they talking about played big risk while working their way up. They lost billions due to failed businesses and keep persisting. |

Monopoly kills the economy of any nation.. no matter the genius you put at the helm of affairs, once monopoly is allowed to thrive, the economy is bound to colapse. Healthy competition on the other hand grows the economy, create employment, promote standards, provide varieties for consumers, etc. The best model to grow any economy is by "healthy competition" not by creating monopolists masquerading as businessmen, richest black man and whathaveyou. |

Baxilexi: Socialism The governments business is to create a leveled playing ground. I laugh in trotsky And that what brave Nigerians who refuse to bend the knee to the crooks in power have been asking for. Survival and innovation cannot coexist, the average Nigerian is like an animal, only thinking about what to eat, rent and cars. No dreams, only ‘how to make am’, ‘dey loyal’, ‘all way na way’.una go gree for capitalism |

Baxilexi:You see that VC talk you brought up, when we are ready to grow as a nation, we will have enough people who will venture into it. These are men who pool resources together to make sure products are invented or innovated. Also, Nigerians need to also make sure to be trustworthy. Many people today want to make it big and fast by cheating even partners. I once began this by investing into certain ideas with the aim of helping these few guys make money while I also make too. We had our profit ratio but they used the first big pay to engage in enjoyments and other exuberant activities that people will later see you as wicked or a rip-off die to the fact that these guys lie instead of being accountable. I had to stop doing anything for anyone, I'd rather throw it into T-Bills and other financial plans to avoid being the bad person. |

Livelystone01:The bolden has been my issue. Folks don’t just get it, wealth is built over time and innovation is the catalyst. We have billionaires and millionaires who can’t write a single book on strategies they used to get to the top. I’ve read so many international reports condemning the business ecosystem in Nigeria as being very volatile with policy somersault, financial and physical insecurities being the most prevalent. Yet we rate ourselves as doing well. People allude affluence to industry but in the Nigerian context it’s a hoax. I joined a startup up grooming agency a while back called Terminal 4. Loads of new generation CEOs mentor aspiring entrepreneurs. They discuss steps they took while climbing and pitfalls to avoid, and you’d notice something similar from all the successful ones, the formula was the same. Ask anyone making it big in Nigeria today, what strategies did/do you use to ensure your business stays afloat, gibberish is the answer. The wealth we have in Nigeria is mostly plastic, a little heat and it folds, take away monopoly where would Dangote be, for those who would argue, cement was/is cheaper in other poorer west African states than Nigeria. |

Cromagnon:What social amenities do you enjoy as a Nigerian? Subsidized transport? Housing? Free primary and secondary education? Healthcare? Unemployment benefits? Disability benefits? I believe we are in a capitalist society already, because most Nigerians are into sole proprietorships. |

slimthugchimee2:On what website did the FG publish these licenses? How much did it cost? The loans Emefiele approved for Dangote could any other person access it? Based off ‘fair competition laws’, it is in the country’s interest that the other 22 licenses are gotten and the government should have equally helped them succeed.

CoronaVirusPro:The SEC, ICPC, EFCC if they do their jobs right, foreign companies would be willing to do business with Nigerians. Attached is a part of the Richard Branson story, but what wasn’t said is that a system was in place to sustain trust between the lender and young entrepreneur. Monopoly killed drive in other countries hence why it was stopped. Rather money went into research and education and then those with genius ideas made investors of the monopolist. Tesla has a lot of shareholders but the brains is Elon, 2 things put him there- education and a society that supports social migration through intellect. In Germany a group invented a new type of battery that uses salt and air, phasing out lithium batteries- brains did that, what follows next is investment, sometimes from the government, it’s not about how big the company is, it’s about how innovative the idea is.

Baxilexi: Yes, creating enabling environment is a valid point, but supporting and creating a leveled playing ground for ALL businesses to thrive is outrightly impossible. In addition, Desist from the stories Billionaires publish, few will tell you how they got the breakthrough. How can someone walk into Boeing to lease a 747 back at that time with 0 down payment without collateral or strong financial backings are recommendation. The story is outrightly impossible and I am not surprised. They all will never yell you. Elon will never say loud the part he got funding from his dad who was rich. They only loud the part where they were putting things together. Elon himself did not invent the Tesla tech. He is not the brainbox behind the tech. He invested in the tech and modernized it. Bezos will never tell you he was from a good average family that could afford a desktop computer back at that time, and had access to the internet. 0.1% of. Nigerians did have access to the internet at that time. My point is that, the government can always invest in education and fund a good part of research, but it cannot create a leveled playing ground for business. Nothing is monopolistic about all we saying. It’s just certain humans having an edge and being able to exploit a tech, product or business. Even the banks don’t treat us all equal, same with airlines and even schools. |

Baxilexi:So you expect to get same loan terms with Dangote 😂😂😂 Where does such happen? The government does not help, it supports. Let me give you a layman’s example. If I decide to be build a refinery today, I must have done land acquisition, and kick off. I must be able to sell a feasible plan to the bank showing how much has been put in, needed, and achievable profit at completion. Also, I must have collaterals in investments which backs my loan request and definitely my long term relationship with the bank. So you want the bank to give both of us A trillion Naira because we have plans of building a floating stadium with 5 million Naira in our account 😃😃😃😃 |
