But wait is it even constitutional for a sole administrator of a state to conduct local government elections?
Is the Sole Administrator a participant in the LG elections?

Obidients and Atiku are those who messed Fubara up. Bunch of terrible selfish leaders. They only care about themselves. They led Fubara on and discarded him when it mattered most.

You can imagine how Wike fought to ensure his boys return to loot the state, that's some leadership. Wike doesn't need those council funds but he knows what it means for your boys to be happy and they will die for you anytime anyday. Fubara was misled. Even Fubara alone tried but immediately he allowed Obi and Obidients and Atiku to put mouth for his case, he lost his guard.

Simi na man you be no doubt.
Lol. For you to think Sim is the saint here leaves a big question mark on your mental state.

See poverty is a tool in the hands of politicians

Illiteracy is also one of their greatest tool

Any successful politician must be able to use these two tools effectively

Only those who master it, wins
I think the bottom line and again it is something that I preach all the time. Educated people are not representative of Nigeria and that’s where we make our first and most crucial mistake. The second mistake is that in our collective arrogance we think our aspirations should also be the aspirations of the man in the village. We say the politicians weaponize poverty, maybe but the reality is the man in the village doesn’t care about the issues the educated city dweller cares about. The village man is not interested in Exchange rate, whether PH refinery is working or not, whether a governor has convoy or not, whether Tinubu bought jet or not. Most of them have never seen arise TV or channels. His life is governed by simple things, borehole, farm inputs, rural roads, schools and medical care.

The quicker the educated city dweller starts to understand how the village or rural people think and what matters to them the quicker we get of our high horses and understand the future of this country. Like it or not these people are 80% of the electorate and determine you future. Politicians know this basic fact that seems to elude the city people with all their education..

EducTed people should also understand what democracy is. It is government by the majority. We are not the majority! We are the minority, we will have our say but the majority will have their way. The folly of the educated Nigerian is that he advocates for democracy because he wants to be like the white man, yet he leaves the majority in the villages without guidance and then starts to argue and speak English in the city. I was having a discussion with someone on Nairaland the other day and I suggested that educated people should start to reconnect with their villages and even vote there….he was arguing with me. Firstly because as an educated person they would have influence on the voters in the village because you will be seen as a role model. Secondly, educated voters don’t make any difference to the votes in the cities and thirdly, about 90 of the 109 senators for example are voted in by largely uneducated villagers because all the educated indigenes from those villages don’t reside, visit or vote their and hence have no influence on their townspeople.

Fubara allowed emergency lovers and developers to deceive him. He learnt his lesson very late....but it is better late than never.

Politics is not for the faint hearted. And you need to play it well. You need to understand the laws of power to play it.

That's why fubara and obi lienus are not so different from each other.

Obi lienus always want to project himself to us everyday by coming to X to spit fake news - he violated many laws of power. Many other presidential candidates did not behave this way.

Fubara too initially was grandstanding and issuing out abuses against wike and was always prodded on by the mob. Today, he knows better.
Falana made good money though.

No governor nor president conducts election.

It is the state, or national electoral commission that conducts election depending on the office(s).

Regardless of what People think, Rivers state is becoming more peaceful than ever before.

I am in Rivers state. Wike is highly respected and admired.
Yesterday's election was obviously ignored by many. The whole situation is circumstantial and won't linger beyond this season.

Fubara accepted all of Wike's malicious help in the first place. He is not innocent. Both slugged it out and Wike won it.

Fubara's control of Rivers state as the people's governor is ideal and right, but he made it there through a System that is more powerful and for the people's sake, more benficial.

Your excuse is silly . Nigeria politics dont consider performance .

My blame for fubara is the weak and indecisive pdp that allowed fubara to be hanged .
You mean Wike under performed?!

Ambode is a nobody without Tinubu by the Grace of God.

Fashola, Ambode, Sonwolu all owe their achievements to Tinubu's visionary leadership.

What good is structure if the people are not with you? The people of Rivers State boycotted yesterday's election in a clear message to Wike and Tinubu. You can't buy love neither can you copy respect.

But you can but fear and authority
70% is still an A

With Fubara and his men abstaining from yesterday's election, the peace between Wike and Fubara is akin to that of a graveyard. Tinubu still has his work cut out for him in the Southsouth.

Fubara miscalculated, his government would have been far more positively impartful than Wike's because that was Wike's intention of making him Governor so that he will be supported by his influence as a right hand man of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. But, Fubara ended up befriend the politicians who are enemies of the people of Rivers State.

There is no doubt that the people of Rivers State see Wike as a man of honor and majority are very loyal to him.

Wike is indeed a FIELD MARSHAL in Nigeria's politics. He under studies every battle and knows how to win.

I hope Fubara has learnt his lessons. If he likes he should return to his old ways of being unreasonable. He will be checkmated by from every corner.

You talk like a kid.
Fubara that can't deliver a single LGA Chairman for himself is the one you are expecting to spoil Tinubu's chances.
Someone whose impeachment was stopped by the President.
Have you seen the terms of the agreement Fubara signed?

Guy, if not for Tinubu, Fubara would have been impeached. Fubara said it himself.
That's why Wike was angry with the State of Emergency declaration by Tinubu.

You see I always wonder when people come on platforms and say the X people or the Y people are not happy with Z. Then elections come and the X people and the Y people vote for Z.

To me it says either The people commenting are not in touch with the grassroots and it is not the people that are unhappy but the commentators.
I am not from Rivers and I don’t want to interfere or comment on Rivers affairs, my comment is a general one because I hear a lot of comments on Nairaland and other media with people usually Obidients saying “Nigerians are this”, “Nigerians are that”. It brings me back to something I always preach: Educated Nigerians who are the demographic that tend to make these comments, represent only 10% of the population. How many of them are in touch with the other 90%?
YOU'RE THE TRUE SON OF YOUR PARENTS. SOME OF THE COMMENTATORS ARE NOT EVEN IN NIGERIA.

Is there any law that says he cannot?

Try and get to read the powers conferred on him by PBAT when he was made sole administrator. It's within his limits.
Anyone not in support should take the National Assembly to court for letting PBAT do such.

Even that statement made by VP Shettima about the the President doesn't have the powers to suspend a State governor is somewhat controversial.......Reason....

Whatever happened in Borno State when Shettima was State Governor during PGEJ administration is completely different from the issues that occured in Rivers State.

The case of Rivers State has a State Governor having two different State Assembly headed by two different speakers.
Those on the side of the Fubara are just four members including his Speaker as recognize him. Those against him are seventeen including the Speaker.

So with this we have to be told which of the houses/gatherings is the legitimate for passing of budgets and screening of commissioners nominees to be appointed and others which falls under the purview of the State Assembly.

The courts has done justice to that and the rest is history.

Are you suggesting we all go to our state of nature since your lord and personal savior and his masters does same? Can you and your co-travellers work with a document as simple as the grandnorm(constitution) where it gallantly empowers the president to "suspend" all elected officials In a state? If that is an ideology in politics then you are not better than the first men.

When people are calling Ambode names because he didn't fight Tinubu and clapping for Obaseki for his episode with Oshiomhole, I was just shaking my head!
They are two distinct scenario that looked alike. Even this one is still a total scenario.
Nigeria is evolving, and one thing is sure; people can hardly has the power these two wield together again. Because other people are learning.
