Dangote Group mourns Phyna's sister, Ruth Otabor

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Ruth Otabor, who was injured in the recent road incident involving one of our trucks in Auchi, Edo State.

On behalf of the entire Dangote Group, we extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and loved ones at this difficult time.

Since the accident, our officials and insurance partners have been by her side, covering all financial and medical costs and supporting her family. Arrangements had been made for her to be flown to India for advanced treatment, pending medical clearance from her doctors. Sadly, despite these efforts and Ruth's brave fight to live, we lost her today.

At Dangote Group, safety, accountability, and compassion remain at the core of our operations. We remain committed to strengthening our safety systems and supporting those affected in moments of tragedy. May God grant her mercy and eternal rest.

They better settle that family well. This should serve as a deterrent to the company on the recklessness of some of its truck drivers

May the soul of the departed rest in peace. As for the company (dangote industries) most of their drivers need training and retraining.

My own curiosity is, let forget about the law suit money because that one can't be possible.

How much did they expect from Dangote to give them for the accident. Flying abroad which 1 or 2 people would accompany her plus the medical.

Did they expect whatever money Dangote would give them to cover all those expensive medical trip?

What stopped the Sister and Mr Voltron to raised funds which VDM can use his platform to do that.

They were busy chasing clout on social media accusing each other.

From the condolence message, Dangote appears to have exhibited some responsibility towards the late lady, even though it appears to have been forced by public outcry


But it's really hard for a previously healthy and active person to survive a limb amputation....Only the depression arising from being bedridden and dependent on others for even personal hygiene almost always kills them...

I know as a fact that I would die quickly too if one of my legs were amputated ....

This is where you need a class action suit brought up against dangote group by all previous verifiable dangote truck linked accident (deaths and injuries) because it's obvious they've accepted liability in this case and therefore should apply to the others......... advocates like Gani Fawehinmi would've been interested in this; our current so-called activists are washouts

I won't join. Phyna's greed caused it. What is she demanding one billion naira for?

What is the essence of the senseless public statement of mourning the victim or their careless drivers.

Dangote must as a matter of priority lay down rules of engagement for his drivers to ensure safety of lives on our highways.
Any truck driver that kills anyone on the road must serve jail terms.
Most of these heavy truck drivers are deliberately wicked on the road. Especially these Northern drivers. They know very well that if accident happens , they don't ever die. Infact the chances of them even sustaining serious injuries are less than 10%.
I have heard some of them dare to say if they kill anyone on the road, highest they will spend a week or two in cell and they will come out

Dangote should pay a minimum of 30 billion naira to the family as compensation

we think alike, there will be no change except if dangote is hit where it hurts him the most, in his bloody pocket but unfortunately the law and justice is purchasable in Nigeria and dangote had very deep pockets and vast connections
