I was not really expecting a win seeing the line up because I dont know what happened to Arteta with this over defensive approach.

I no watch the match I no even watch highlights but what I know is that Liverpool did not shit on us like some people here are trying to insinuate. They would have been happy to end the match with a goalless draw till the free kick happened. Arteta should have risked it all and gone all out instead of playing overly defensive but then again we didn't concede any free kick till we switched to offensive play. Nelli was started because he has been a thorn in the flesh for Liverpool defenders in the past seasons. Odegaard couldn't start because he didn't train all week till the day before they travelled to Anfield. Eze hasn't played for almost 2 weeks, Arteta may have felt may not be fully match fit though I still wished he had brought him in earlier.

I don't understand why some fans are already sauing that our season is over after matchday 3.
Liverpool lost one of their opening matches at home to Nottingham Forest and still went on to win the league. We must not let one loss define our season.

Most European clubs have stretched their budget this window and can only get a player on loan with an obligation to buy so as not to violate UEFA's FFP rules. Atalanta don't want that option for Lookman, they want an outright buy but we can't afford to do that. Bayern is also interested but Atalanta is not budging. Only Saudi clubs will buy Martinelli for 60m. If only we had sold him when Bayern Munich came to bid for him in the beginning of the window. He would have been our record sale by now

Arteta knows Martinelli isn't as productive as he used to be, but he keeps trusting him. I knew he was definitely going to start yesterday, but he suppose dey chop bench back to back from next match. Until Saka returns, I know Madueke will be our main 7 so it's left for Arteta to choose Eze and Trosard ahead of Martinelli. BTW what do you think of Madueke yesterday?.

They say we are over_reacting, Games like this do matter a lot for believes and morale... We lost the title to City 3 years ago because we lost to them at Emirates, 2 years ago we packed the bus got a draw at Etihad against a weakened City side missing 3 to 4 regulars and it cost us the title on the final day.... Vs a struggling Liverpool defence yesterday we started 3 DMs against a side that clearly feared and respected us ( you will clearly see it in their game play yesterday that they were scared, never seen Liverpool that cautious in attacking an opponent)

It's a script that has been played before ....

I think he is either unfit or nursing something. He has not been up to speed yet. Even Gyokeres. Both have not been sharp lately.

I don't see how any one will blame a DM for committing the foul against a player charging towards goal. That was a technical foul. The fact that the ensuing free kick was scored does not mean we should blame the player.
