If you knew these verses, probably you wouldn't have asked in the first place.

As for confession
( I will answer because it's an unnecessary extra piece I added as a follow up to the main answer).

In entire Nehemiah chapter 9, they confessed their sins after Ezra had led the rebuilding of the Temple(in book of Ezra) and Governor Nehemiah had supervised rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem in Judah(in book of Nehemiah).
So Israel had remnant of the country back.
Intermarriage outside Israel with aliens was purged out by every single Jew out of the remnants of Judah(Ezra 9 & Ezra 10).
This helped to keep the lineage of David in-check to birth Jesus to fulfil God's covenant with David.

(solomon's prayer also predicted Israelites being exiled to foreign lands and pleaded for God to restore them back to Jerusalem temple if they genuinely ask for forgiveness and turn from their ways.
