From the hospital picture I can see sepsis cannot be ruled out. It is entirely possible that the operation took a while before being carried out as the practice in Nigerian hospitals due to administrative and financial issues. Emergency medicine in Nigeria is a disaster. Nothing about how we manage healthcare in this country is cerebral.

They moved her to lagoon hospital in Lagos where they carried out series of test and discovered she had other complications. Phyna even said she was in coma some days back . They were waiting for her to to stabilize before flying her out .i feel like we really don’t have a good emergency response to accidents like this . She needed quality prompt , immediate medical attention

1.Amputation made her immobile,lying in a place..increasing the risk of blood clots leading to a condition known as pulmonary embolism since she was not ambulating.

2.Amputation is a major surgery and the risk of infection is high..And in the wake of fake /substandard drugs plus antibiotics resistance,chances of being able to manage overwhelming sepsis slim.

3. Depression: From losing her legs.
