Oh my Lord! Just like that! May God rest her well o....biko how many people Dangote trucks don kill? Them no get safety department that vets all their drivers and ensure they and their properties conform to safety rules?

Chai! I remember how Lafarge carried safety for head like gala....if there is an accident, the head of safety department is in trouble evn head of plant go hear am! Everybody is accountable. How many Lafarge trucks dey get accidents? There is always a difference when anyhow people with money manage things compared to well studied people managing same. Worst....Nigeria government doesn't care about sanctioning Dangote and his trucks....na until his truck wipe out a major govt convoy/people/their families before a reform go happen! Nonsense!

May her soul rest in peace, in a civilised and developed country, Dangote would have been sued and he will pay for all damages.

May her soul rest in Peace. One of the most serious complications of long bone fractures is pulmonary embolism. Moreover, considering the sanitary state of most Nigerian hospitals, we can't rule out overwhelming infection too.
Thank you my brother.
The thing is, we don't know how much blood she lost internally. She could have had a pelvic bone fracture, and it appears at least a long bone was fractured, to loose that limb. These can cause massive blood loss and affect organs. How good and soon was the initial trauma care?

It's a miracle she didn't die of shock soon after. Perhaps because she was young, fit and vital organs were in top shape.

As for infection risk, antibiotics available to use might even be fake. And you think doctors' exodus has no serious impact on the quality of trauma management and surgical hands available?

The average 9ja has no idea just how deep the mess in all sectors is.

RIP to her.

He was dragging audience with Dangote's crew with Phyna...like phyna should not have met with Dangote's representatives without him and felt slighted when she did.
That was the beginning of the bickering between the two, leading him to accuse her of betrayal and hiding her sister's private life from the public in respect to her late sister nursing two kids

This was the reason the Dangote's team did not want audience with vdm on this Matter. Because as always will take attention from what really matters.

The public didn't need to know anything about this lady's personal life.

There's no amount of money that would bring back the lady's leg so even if she or her family asks for N10billion as lifelong rehabilitation it's still within reason.

If the family chooses to build a house for her with it, send her abroad; scholarship for her kids; whatever the decision; we don't need that explanation.

All that matters is compensation is paid

But now, she dead!

May her soul rest in Peace!
I saw this coming..so vdm did wrong for calling out Dangote in the first place, abi? The Phyna would have discussed with vdm about her imminent meeting with Dangote crew. She would have, in a subtle manner open up to vdm of her sisters kids and her intentions to seek a 1 billion compensation from the so called Dangote. Bruh/sis, two wrongs don't make a right and vdm only told the public of his rational thoughts on her issue. Rip to the dead and please vdm is not a clout chaser but rather a Nigerian that has gathered courage with time on the social media space unlike the chickens who just waste their bandwidth on unsubstantial contents.

Are you doing this deliberately or it's just the way you think?
VDM has done more than is expected, he should just back down now. The Victim's sister did not follow through with their agreement to take on Dangote together, she decided to do it alone, how is that VDM's fault?
VDM already put his life on the line for this Dangote fight, I feel he has done enough. We all have the responsibility to fight collectively for our safety and wellbeing. VDM is not the only Nigerian to do all the fighting for us. He is no superman, he is just a young man with courage and good spirit.
Let's all learn to fight for what is right or we remain the way we are.
That is why come 2027, only 20 billion will make youths kill themselves

You made sense. Chevron had one air ambulance. I once announced the opportunity here when they needed a certified air ambulance nurse. I shared same vacancy on major social media platform but I was unable to get one for chevron, for months. In a country of over 200m population(official) fa, no single air ambulance nurse could be found. I wonder which kain course our people dey study sef.

Air ambulance nurses,
Emergency Response Personnel,
Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineers,
Biomedical Engineers, etc are hot cakes.

Sadly, people are too blind to see them. Instead, they'd be going for anyhow courses just because they want to enter a university. Time is invaluable fa
The bold is the only viable course there, but it is very expensive and not administered by many universities. Biomedical engineering exists, but the jobs are fewer, so many don't opt for it, and even if they do, it is "JAMB that gave them", not out of passion.

Emergencies are not taken seriously across the country aside from a few MNCs, so the demand cannot entice a supply.

That emergencies aren't taken seriously here shouldn't be a reason people don't research on, and go for such a lucrative career, that's capable of writing off poverty in their lineage. On the contrary, ordinary LASU runs Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering and their fees are cheap, you see? Likewise OAU. My Biomedical Engineer travels the world, for trainings. His colleague works for a top hospital in the UK as I speak. Every hospital needs a Biomedical Engineer as well, home and abroad. Information is very key. If you're well informed, you'd definitely get whatever you want. Even if you studied the best course and you're not informed, it's useless.

I remember a guy who studied in FG's Kaduna college of aviation and complaining of joblessness. I introduced Archer aviation to him and he applied, today he's in the US, doing great. That's the power of Information. Once you had that right degree and you're well informed, the sky is your starting point . Those professions may not be appreciated locally but out there, theyre never enough.

When I graduated, I didn't know anyone who could help me. It's been stories upon stories. I got all the jobs I had through the then guardian newspapers of Tuesdays' and Thursdays' editions, without knowing anyone whereas, my colleagues were busy counting on people who later disappointed them. Till this morning as i speak to you, none of them could near.me in achievement. All glory to God. I've researched before posting those professions and based in my personal experience. Air ambulance exists but how many are qualified as nurses to work in this very lucrative sector?

You dey mind the illiterate? The effect on the body is the trauma i explained earlier. Let them cut one of his fingers and see if he'd not feel it in his entire body, talk less of a whole leg with the 2nd leg, damaged with lots of fractures
Re: Phyna Sister, Ruth Otabor Dies After Dangote Truck Accident by Originalsly: 5:11am On Sep 01, 2025
What really caused her death? They should really have an autopsy to determine her cause of death instead of pointing fingers at Dangote only. Was her death caused by a botched amputation? People have met in accidents ...legs crushed and had to be amputated...!and are hopping around very much alive and well. Why couldn't she? I strongly believe it was a botched surgery.

We talk too much instead of taking action.... and action is what bring about change. It is for an autopsy to be done. If the result shows the amputation was the cause of death then she should get a good lawyer and sue the Dangote Group .... the driver ... and the hospital. Dangote Group is likely to settle out of court .... the driver would have to give up everything he ever owned plus work to meet the judgement amount ... the hospital will likely settle to avoid patient boycott and the family would have some closure. How can this bring about change? It will encourage others to sue Dangote ... so many accidents...so many hugh payouts...he will introduce and enforce strict requirements of his drivers ... as in certification ...random drug testing ... open lines for the public to report reckless drivers etc. Hospitals will scrutinize their surgeons ... ensure they are certified ... pull those who are constantly botching surgeries etc. Drivers will be careful for fear of being sued. As it is now ... there are no consequences so everybody do anyhow.

That girl shouldn't have died couldn't they have taken her to a private hospital? Here's my perspective: Phyna likely knew her sister wasn't going to survive, which may explain why she started distancing herself from people, including VDM and especially the father of her sister's children. In the event of their mother's death, he should naturally have custody, but Phyna began speaking badly about him possibly because she doesn't want him to claim any part of the compensation, even though he has a right to it through his children.

She even went as far as negotiating and finalizing settlements with Dangote. In my opinion, any compensation paid should be placed in a trust for the children, not handed over to Phyna directly. That way, the money is secured for the kids and not used for her personal benefit. Let’s not forget this is her sister we're talking about, yet instead of focusing on saving her life, Phyna seemed more concerned with pursuing a ₦1 billion payout which she intended for to be paid to her.

She could have been transferred to a better hospital within Nigeria, but instead, she was left to die. No one could realistically survive multiple long‑bone fractures in that facility. She should have been moved to a tertiary hospital in Nigeria, or at least had access to teleconsultations with foreign specialists. She was given no fighting chance. She was abandoned to die.

All Phyna wanted was justice but some people wanted to meet Dangote to act like an activist
Dragged her at her lowest, opened her up for trolls

VDM is a confirm clout chaser! He hides behind or rides on social activism to chase clout. He latches onto trending cases or cases that tends to elicit parochial sentiments in order to shoulder up his activism profile.

Crush injury on the leg can cause a whole lot of injuries. The fact that they had to amputate the leg says a lot on its own. We are not just thinking of severest forms of sepsis but also widespread gangrene. When you amputate with major vessels involved, how do you maintain the circulation? She should have been flown out if the means were available.

We see the game, you’ve been dispatched straight out of Dangote’s camp to stir disunity, but Nigerians know the truth: Dangote’s billions are soaked in blood. Every single day, his trucks grind innocent lives into dust, all in the name of stacking more zeroes to his net worth. This is not business, it’s a ritual of sacrifice on the highways. Nigerians are not dazzled by his so-called wealth. Don’t you dare attempt to drag Phyna into the mud, it won’t stick. The only true villain here is Dangote. If you crave his blood-soaked cash so badly, then by all means, line yourself up
under his convoys and let his trucks crush you flat. Nigerians do not want his dirty hush money. We demand rules, sanity, and strict government oversight over his trucking empire. Enough blood has been spilled. A young woman was nurtured, educated, invested in, only to be stolen from her children forever by reckless wheels of greed. And you stand here peddling the insult of a measly 1 billion as if human lives have price tags? You and Dangote can take that rotten offer and ram it where the sun will never shine.
