https://www.nairaland.com/8509632/solomon-arase-dies-abuja-hospital This man is more presidential than Tinubu. How can you claim to be president, and yet you don't take treatments at the national hospital, or any other hospital in Nigeria? Is it that he doesn't rate his fellow Nigerians? Or is he suffering from low self esteem, and only trust whites to handle his health? Who'll die, will die, it might be prolonged, but what's the difference? Nigeria or France, death is death. Let's respect the country for once, since we don't want to go our separate ways. |

Please has anyone successfully gotten their money back after a wrong transfer? Transferred money from my Opay to a Stanbic IBTC account that had the same account number as the Sterling account I was supposed to transfer to. Did the transfer Saturday night, and didn't notice until Sunday morning...was told I'd need a court order for them to freeze the account...please anybody that has gone through this process and knows what the steps needed would be should please share. |

izzou:Nobody that has the money and is treating a critical health condition would leave their health at the hands of Nigeria's healthcare...it's incredibly bad and we're just one serious health condition from being the next victims of the system. And it's not even about money sef, cause I've seen people with money patronize our so-called big hospitals only to have the situation made worse through sheer incomeptence. There's just something wrong with the way we do things in this country. |

Theflint1:Take your bank statement as proof to the Customer care of the recipient's bank. They will notify him/her of the transfer, and seek his consent to retrieve it. If he agrees, It's done. (If the person dey fear God) If he doesn't, go to court. The court will serve the bank some kind documents sha. That way, the person will have no option than to let it go. If e spend the money, dem go dey bill am through his BVN. In summary, if the money is small, stick to option 1, because the second option go stress you somehow. |

izzou:So this second option, I'd be needing a lawyer abi? |

BlueRayDick:dangote spent half of the year chasing public goodwill in his fight with FG and marketers and NNPC he spent far more time on news channels this year than he has done for his entire career. if he does not do the right thing, someone will call him out in public on this during one of his engagements |

GloriousGbola:It was just a bad mistake, the person sent name and account, wasn't careful enough. I don't mind following through the process, and waiting...it's just that 20% upfront payment thing that bugs me...would explore the bank mediation route first and if that doesn't work would consider the court order. Saw a Facebook profile that matches the three names on the account...last activity on the FB account was 2017 and the person has just 58 friends on the account. |

Ibime:Yo. Have you listened to Supreme Clientele 2. As a rap purist I think that's rap album of the year. Starks really cooked on this one. The delivery, story telling. Didn't miss a single bit Really good to see these niggas in their mid 50s still cooking. He's been dropping some under g cuts, last year Scar Tissue with Nas and Two Hammers with Method Man. Now a full album and I must say. This is as good as Supreme Clientele and Ironman. Them OGs still have it |

I bin get this small arguement with person yesterday. Accountants and finance people, abeg make una clear me. Hypothetical figures. A person applies for N100,000 loan at 5% annual interest. The 5% interest of N5,000 is deducted upfront, and N95,000 is credited to the person's account. The loanee is to pay back N100,000 instead of N95,000 with monthly repayment of N10,000 for 10 months. Doesn't paying back N100,000 instead of N95,000 amount to an interest rate of 10% since the interest was deducted upfront and only 95,000 was disbursed? Cc: Ibime. Theflint1:If you know someone(on a personal level) in the recepient bank who has access, u can reason with him. Explain what happened to him and give him the name of that person who received the account. He will help u look at his biodata and spool his phone number out. Call the guy on his personal phone number and.talk to him about the money you sent to his account. Normally the person would freak out and start wondering how you got his number by mere transfer to his account. PS: Never ever reveal how you got his number to him else you will land the bank guy who helped you in serious gbege. Use street reason him and tell him you have your ways and means of getting things down. Let him know the option he has is to give his bank instruction to reverse Ur money or what might come after may affect his entire bank accounts and not just this particular bank account. If this doesn't work, then you don't have a choice but to go through the official channels of soughting out a court order. |

semid4lyfe:Something tells me the intial 5k they deducted wasn't even interest. It may be insurance fee which is fixed at 1% of the loan sum or 5k flat (whichever is greater) To the best of my knowledge, most loans banks give out are always insured. Most loans have default risk which the customers are compelled to get insurance on it. Because this small loans of 100k, 200k, 500k, etc are small in nature and asking customers to go apply for insurance on it may turn the customers off; what banks do is build the insurance cost into the terms and conditions ( those long gibberish you skip on the loan app and click " I agree" ![]() Now having agreed to the terms and conditions, they will automatically debit you for the insurance cost then send you the remaining funds. If it were to be a corporate loanwith physical relationship managers and you dropped a collateral security like C of O of Ur building , these things will be explained to you. |

BlueRayDick:The emboldened assumption is incorrect sir, Also, the figure is hypothetical, there is no insurance fee and the loan is being requested from the ASUU Cooperative of my institution, not a bank. There is no risk of non-repayment because the loan will be deducted from source, along with other statutory deductions and the loanee will only receive the balance as salary. Pls just speak to the maths. I only want to know if the structure of the loan does not amount to an interest of 10%, instead of 5%. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 6:14am On Sep 01, 2025*. Modified: 6:41am On Sep 01, 2025 |
semid4lyfe:Well, you didn't state it was a cooperative loan and made me assume u were talking about loan from all these micro credit fintechs/ banks mini loan apps. Well, I don't know much about the terms and conditions of cooperative loans. I know about company's loans to staff and I know those loans don't carry any hidden charges. What you apply for is what you get and what you will return in due time is loan + Interest Maybe u should engage Ur cooperative members further on the terms of the loan. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by semid4lyfe(m): 6:20am On Sep 01, 2025 |
BlueRayDick:With the emboldened, you're saying the loan structure is 10% interest and not 5% right? |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 6:26am On Sep 01, 2025 |
semid4lyfe:I am saying you should speak to the people in charge of the loan and ask them why the full loan sum applied for was not disbursed since you will pay back the full loan sum + interest. Maybe it was a mistake, maybe they will credit you back the additional 5k or if there's any explanation we don't know of behind the whole thing. |

GloriousGbola:This week a lot of content creators will feast on the misfortune of the Otabor family; so many narratives that does the family nor Dangote no good will be spunned by the bloggers. Dangote group just needs to put a human face to handling the fallout from this unfortunate incident. They also need to go hard on their drivers going forward because their excesses are just too much. |

BlueRayDick:I was happy with how the case was brought to light, but I have been disappointed with how it went, even till her demise It turned to a VDM matter. Then, it turned to a VDM vs Phyna matter. If you use SM to bring something to limelight, take advantage of the proper channels to get justice. Na why I like Scott Iguma. He drags you on SM, and he has lawyers to use the appropriate measures of the law to follow up. That accident was a good way not just to get compensation, but also to correct a lot of wrongs on road safety. We only know the driver hit the bike. Was the driver licensed to drive? Was the road worthy? The case would have held some people accountable to their jobs. I don't see much happening. Dangote will give a payout. If una drag am, it doesn't change anything. His fuel and Cement is still what we cannot do without. If you drag him too much, they will pay influencers to also show that the bike rider was at fault. |

semid4lyfe:It is still 5% interest. if they didn't deduct the 5000 upfront, you would have paid back 105,000... |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Akinlot: 8:29am On Sep 01, 2025 |
semid4lyfe:I don't know the finance maths behind it but does appear correct. If they had given you N100,000, you'll pay N105,000. They gave you 95k, deducted an initial N5,000 and you'll pay back 100k which brings the total sum to N105,000. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 8:39am On Sep 01, 2025 |
izzou:I've already seen Sowore's post on the matter. It's just unfortunate the whole thing might just be an avenue for social media celebrities/activists to farm engagement as usual. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 8:42am On Sep 01, 2025 |
semid4lyfe:Somehow I misread this part earlier. If they gave him 95k and expected him to pay back 100k plus the 5k they deducted, they are in the right then. Normally he should repay 105k if they had given him the full 100k he applied for. So the maths is right. |
