The Iowa County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fight involving teens that happened August 16 at a barn in the Town of Pulaski.

Video shows a group of boys attacking a 14-year-old African American boy from Platteville.

Throughout the video, the individuals attacking the teen use several racial slurs toward him.

Lynne Parrott is the city of Platteville's Alderperson at large and says she was shocked to see the video after the victim's mother sent it to her.

"I'm sitting in my car, and I'm looking at the video, and it tore my heart," Parrott said. "It hurt me. And then the things that they were saying, the slurs and the verbiage and the, you know, beat that in N-Word and F that N-word and bust his eye, like, why?"

She says thankfully the 14-year-old boy is okay and did not suffer any serious physical injuries from the attack, but says he is emotionally scarred from the incident.

"He could get to the point where he doesn't trust. He'll lose friends, he'll withdraw. Is that what we want?" Parrott said.

She says the boy told his family that he was a target because the group mistook him for someone else.

In the video, several people at the event tried to break up the fight.

Iowa County Sheriff Mike Peterson says the fight is under investigation. His deputies responded that night because a fire was reported at the same spot.

When they arrived, the people who were part of the fight had left.

Deputies are now reviewing the video after receiving it from a media outlet Friday, August 22.

27 News initially reached out to the Iowa County Sheriff's Department on Friday, August 22 asking if they were investigating the situation and were not able to provide a comment until Monday, August 25.

Meanwhile, Parrot is calling for accountability for the teens involved in the incident.

"It bothered me more, not just because he was the only African American in the room, but because he came, he went out to an event with some friends that he had some trust, right? And so if he trusted these people that brought him out there, like, what happened?" Parrot said.

This is an example of why you should not allow your child or any loved one to befriend a nonblack, or go to any place where they will be the only black person. Nonblacks are depraved.

Show me a bunch of black men, women, and children who aren't poor, g4ng members, on dru9s, or suffering from some kind of mental issue who wait for opportunities to attack nonblacks simply for being nonblacks.

Black people don't do this. There are oyinbos who will fully admit that these people want to harm black people simply for being black. I've only ever seen children, meaning bullies who go after everyone regardless of race, that want to fight a white kid.
