Good one but the question still remain. Have they retrained the teachers ? … This government will play politics rather than properly Govern |

Still no history. Smh. The earlier history is taught to our kids the better for us as a county. No need shying away from the truth. We need to know who we are and how far we have come for there to truly be national cohesion. |

Timely and beneficial. I only have issue with Economic being restricted to Social Science students. Everyone needs to know how to manage one's income especially in this Tinubunomics era. All the same, great reform there. Tinubu, a bad man with good intentions. |

indigenous234:With regards to your first paragraph, that was what I was thinking. They should have used some part of the holidays to retrain teachers in relative to added options in the curriculum, especially relating to tech. But still good all the same. |

I like that the volume of subjects has been reduced. But this will fly next academic year, not this year. A lot of innovations are in it and very necessary but this is coming at a time when serious schools are set to resume and must have done all of their plannings for the next academic session. Some of these innovations involve humongous fees. How is a school that has already planned its revenue and projects for the next session supposed to go about this? NERDC that are supposed to maintain our curriculum every five years left it until this late to unveil a new one. That's crazy....and brazy! It's a welcome development. They should set deadlines for steps towards its full implementation in 2026/2027 academic session. |

Not by bringing new curriculum. THEY SHOULD RECRUIT PROFESSIONAL TEACHERS and START PAYING ALL GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS TEACHERS VERY WELL WITH ALSO GOOD RETIREMENT PLANS FOR THEM. |

Racoon:but it would be a revisionist history not the actual history. They're not going to be taught the pre colonial history of Nigeria, the colonial wars( Lugard's genocidal wars in the north and the numerous war crimes he committed along the way) colonial era ( how the British government massacred harmless and armless women protesting obnoxious taxes in Aba and Ibadan) They're not going to be taught in details or anything close to it about Nigeria from 1960 to 1999 at least, they're only going to be taught the names of heads of state from 1960 to date. That's why it's going to be only taught in the JSS classes and not the SS classes. |

Amongst other things, I am happy to see the introduction of ICT skills and entrepreneurship. It is very easy to spot the effect of a lack of entrepreneurship education from a majority of Nigerians on the internet space. You'd see people asking why a service is not FREE. Such persons will even go ahead to rate products poorly on the Appstore - basically because the service is not FREE. They do not bother about the cost of developing the product, maintaining and sustaining the service - it beats my imagination each time I see the folly displayed arrogantly and ignorantly, and it speaks to the reason why most of our youths are not employed and underemployed. A majority lack the curiosity to know how things work, how to solve a problem, but seek employment in an establishment created by someone else, whilst roaming the internet for FREE services. Anyways, I am over the moon and excited that entrepreneurship will be introduced at the secondary school level. Cheers to a progressive Nation. I look forward to a thriving Nigeria. |

treesun:beyond the curiculum, there are many other aspects of education in Nigeria that need serious attention. 1. teacher eduction and re-training 2. use of mordern teaching aids and ways to improve information disemination to students eg watching relevant videos in class, field trips 3. de-emphasize only knowledge in favour of application 4. students should be helped to participate more in class - students should make presentations, do joint project work etc Builds communication skills. 5. classrooms should have a standard design |

Fantastic!!!, especially regarding mathematics and measurements modern maths is about ratios, percentages, fractions, decimals and measurements All other topics in mathematics for Junior secondary should be discarded. For you to study some science courses like nursing and allied health courses in Canada, you would required to present an evidence of good understanding of MTH11, which is basically ratios, fractions, percentages and measurements. Some topics in mathematics in Junior secondary school needs to be discarded immediately and focus more on topics that have real life applicability like ratios, percentages, conversions, measurements, sharing and monetary calculations |

Re-introduction of History is highly commendable. It's important some people know where they actually belong in history. It can be so annoying when one sees mere descendants of primitive, forest-dwelling ancestors parading themselves today as if they had any nobility in their bloodlines. |
