The vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party (2023 elections), Datti Baba-Ahmed, has faulted former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, over his recent allegation that the government is paying bandits, claiming that the former minister cannot absolve himself from the blame.

Baba-Ahmed, who made a guest appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of using insecurity as a political tool.

Addressing recent allegations by El-Rufai that the government is paying bandits, Baba-Ahmed maintained that the former Governor is part of the guilty party and can’t absolve himself from any blame.

“El-Rufai cannot run away because he is part of it. “My grudge with Nasiru’s statement is that he was part and parcel of the APC from 2013. Like he told you, he was one of the architects of it all. All of a sudden, to come and absolve himself and call others, no. Nasiru is part and parcel of all that has been going on. We suffered, we are victims of Nasiru’s misrule in Zaria.”

“I am in so much pain, believe me. Nigeria should be a great country, yet we have people destroying us by the hour.

Insecurity has been part of APC’s game, and Nasiru is saying it. “I think he is right, the government has been paying them. Insecurity has been the APC’s way of staying in power.

That is my candid, firm opinion, strengthened by the kind of unfortunate comments like that of Nasiru, ” he said.

What Datti Baba-Ahmed and El Rufai etal will fail to confess is that APC is not one. It consists of very distinct and seperate entities. Strange bedfellows only united by the search for political office and control of the center and not much else.

I.e North vs South, Fulanis vs all others, over-religious and extremist North Vs Liberal and tolerant South.

To Say APC is using terrorism to remain in power must be exclusively clarified to mean Fulanis and Northerners in APC are those guilty of that. For example, there is no terrorism at all in the SW and SS. Even that in the SE is localised and not exported as is the case with the North.

It is never Southerner responsible for terrorising Nigeria and Not Southern leaders tacitly abetting terrorism by commision or Omission.

The truth has to be told to these arrogant, unrepentant and gaslighting Northerners that a beautiful nation is being destroyed because of their actions while they deflect blame elsewhere simply because they cannot tackle the extremists amongst them and prefer to pay them not to slaughter Nigerians.

Also Crystal clear it is not an APC President from the Yoruba ethnic group, that value the sancity of human life, sponsoring terror for political gains as Baba-Ahmed alleges.

El Rufai plus Datti Baba-Ahmed grandstand and gaslight arrogantly all day because they know the South is not united or emotionally intelligent enough to ask them "why are you people so predisposed to fundamentalist terror and killings?"

Why deny the problem you are causing for Nigeria for God sake to then only be talking about APC, Tinubu etal patronising and distractingly?

Clever folks will know those who deny being the problem, to then deflect blame towards all others, are not remorseful, responsible or interested in solutions to insecurity. They may even be direct sponsors of it. Otherwise they would not speak as if charity should not begin at home.

Northerners right now are looking very bad and dangerous to those with decent intellect capacity because, from Datti Baba-Ahmed to El Rufai, there is a clear and disturbing refusal to take blame for what they have used to essentially destroy their own region and Nigeria by extension.

Instead they cleverly talk about APC and PDP, Tinubu's "evil Government" etal yet non has shown the honesty to admit "we Northerners are the one's responsible for terrorism becoming part of Nigeria's reality today" to then pledge to tackle the issue sincerely.

We have seen lists of sponsors of terror consisting of almost Northerners entirely. When will Datti Baba-Ahmed, El Rufai, Atiku etal talk about those names and how to neutralise their nefarious influence instead of shouting APC, Tinubu, "Yorubanization" etal everywhere?

A great post, but most Nigerian still will choose to look the other way and focus on noise and distractions.

When the Northerners have had enough of singlehandedly destroying their region and running to Abuja, they will stop.....but the last thing anyone in the South should do is allow them to export it or copy this manifesto of madness.

Annoyingly, those who used to attack Elrufai when he was Kaduna state government have suddenly see him as the new messiah in town. That's how they have been unstable politically

Because he was part of the problem doesn't mean after realisation, he cannot be part of the solution.

In fact he is in a better position to be the solution because he umderstands the other side.

I wasnt a fan of El rufai when he was governor for 8years. But today, i think El rufai was better than what we have today in Kaduna.
