Mr President gave the late President Buhari a national burial unprecedented in the political history of Nigeria.

No one begrudges him for according the late President a most befitting burial - this is the right thing to do under normal circumstances.

The late President already has several institutions named after him dotting the Nigerian landscape.

Going for an entirely new building just to immortalize him is definitely an overkill.

Nigeria has more than enough challenges requiring urgent attention at the moment.

Could all these be just political gimmicks to woo the North ahead of the 2027 presidential election, especially given the pockets of discontent up North?
