…PLEDGES TO REHABILITATE MORE ROADS IN THE AREA Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has flagged off the emergency reconstruction of the Karu road from the Karu interchange to Customs Clinic Junction (Karu site) within the Abuja Municipal Area Council of the FCT. Speaking during the flag-off ceremony on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, Barr. Wike explained that while the flagship project is the reconstruction of the Karu road, the scope of work has been expanded to include the rehabilitation of additional critical roads in Karu satellite town. The Minister acknowledged the persistent advocacy of stakeholders for the road projects, specifically commending the AMAC Chairman, Christopher Maiakalangu, for his relentless efforts in championing the needs of the Karu people. He stressed that the chairman's relationship with the government has made the Karu road projects possible. Barr. Wike also acknowledged the support of former Senator representing the FCT, Philip Tanimu Aduda, whose intervention, he said, led to the inclusion of the additional feeder roads in the project and urged FCT residents to continue to support those who have their interests at heart. The Minister said, “That is why I would always want you to support those that can go to the government and say, look, my area is bad and the government will listen to them. Do you know there are some people you would elect, they cannot talk to the government? There are people you elect, they have the audience of the government. “And that's why the chairman of AMAC, Maikalangu, has always been on my neck. He has always told me, sir, even though you have done Nyanya to Karshi, it will be unfair as the Chairman of AMAC, this Karu road has been of very serious concern to us. Do me that favor and see whether you can, under emergency, reconstruct and dualise this Karu road. “Because he's been a young man who has been very supportive of the Renewed Hope Agenda, I felt that it would be better to encourage him, to listen to him. And so we are here today. If I were you, I would continue to support him because it means that he has the people of Karu at heart. It means that he has the problem of AMAC at heart. “Also, one of your sons who is no longer in government…Senator Tanimu Aduda, has been somebody that believes in the people of Abuja. I saw him last night. He came to me, and he said, Sir, this is an opportunity now. Now you are doing this Karu dualization, there are some other small roads; if you join them, it will open the whole of Karu. "And so because I know he means well for his people, I know that he talks well about his people, I conceded to him. And so, the people of Karu, this is your turn and we'll make sure you get the benefits you are entitled to. “And so we have added these other roads to this road we are doing now. One, we are going to rebuild Customs Clinic Juncture to CBN Quarters junction. We are going to rebuild immediately Customs Clinic Junction to EFFC. We are also going to rebuild the NIA Quarters Road, we are going to rebuild Primus hospital road", the Minister stated. Barrister Wike expressed confidence in the contractor, Messers Abdul Val Nigeria Limited, adding that their successful completion of a similar 16-kilometer dual carriage project in Ushafa, in Bwari Area Council within a 10-month timeline was commendable. He urged the contractor to ensure that all the newly added roads are completed within 10 months as well, promising the community that the project would not only involve road reconstruction but also the installation of streetlights to improve the business environment. The Minister who reiterated that the provision of basic infrastructure in FCT satellite towns was a critical component of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Adenda, said the ongoing expansion of water supply projects and provision of rural roads in the satellite towns fulfils the promises made by the President to bring infrastructure development closer to the rural people. He further called on residents to continue to hold elected officials accountable for their campaign promises. In her vote of thanks, the FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, conveyed her deep appreciation to President Tinubu, noting that his Renewed Hope Agenda continues to produce impactful, life-changing projects for the benefit of all Nigerians. She praised the FCT Minister for his dedication and leadership. Providing an overview of the Karu road project, the Coordinator, Satellite Towns Development Department, Honourable Abdulkadir Zulkiflu, said the scope of work includes the construction of a 5.4-kilometer length of roads and provision of other necessary engineering infrastructure, including the installation of solar-powered street lights, adding that the project would be delivered within 10 months. He stated that the current FCT Administration has taken cognizance of the need to provide unhindered access to the newly-rehabilitated Nyanya-Karshi Road, noting that the project will enhance free traffic flow along the Nyanya-Karshi axis of the FCT. In his note of commitment, the Managing Director of Abdul Val Nigeria Ltd., the project's contractor, Mr. Suleman Abdul, expressed his gratitude to the Minister for awarding the project to his company. He assured that the project would be delivered according to the highest standards and within the stipulated time frame.

This one own na to dey do rosd , bridge, flyover, conference centers, government lodges etc. Good though, but there's more to building, construction, something that that speaks better value than the above mentioned is empowering the youth, people in general. I think government should prioritize more in job creation, empowerment and a friendly environment for business more. Because without a healthy and working people, the nation crumble even with all the infrastructures that sometimes make no sense to them |

The last time Fasola claimed he spent 70 million on website design, we caught him.... the last time Tinubu padded the budget with 180million per borehole, we caught him. So let's enjoy the good road construction first, let the student drink sachet water for now, once we make enough money on road construction because all of you don't know the cost of asphalt concrete and Portland cement concrete, but most of you own a borehole and you did it for 500k depending on the area. So, once we made enough money for the next election from road construction and repair of old buildings, then we will give you water and food. By the way Wike is doing a good job because what if he decides not to do anything, which police station will you report him to? blackbriar: |

You’re bragging over someone else’s language. If they asked you to write this correction in your own dialect right now, with all the proper diacritical marks, I’m sure you wouldn’t be able to do it. And you don’t even realize the guy is right, because ‘everyone’ is singular, therefore it should be ‘everyone is.’ This is called subject–verb agreement. How do we expect to grow if we keep embracing foreign things instead of understanding our own basics? Amuluonyenaego: |

Follow who know the roads is the slogan. If you dare follow who no sabi road, you will be lost forever. Wike is the best, Mr Projects.....hate him or love him, that's is immaterial, what matters is the fact of the facts, people are happy, development is ongoing, villages are transforming into cities in Abuja under the administration of Wike. No one has ever done it better, not even close. Wike, the heartbeat of Tinubu. Imagine that you are the President, would you ever joke with someone like Wike? Especially In this present Nigeria where everyone is incompetent and full of dirty corruption. Though, we aren't saying Wike is not helping himself a little to the cookies but at least, he's performing for all to see. Even his enemies testify to his good work..... Wike is more important to Tinubu than even some states in Nigeria. Whom the gods love, is indeed on top of the world.... blackbriar: |

What wike has shown with his 2 years in the FCT is that, northerners especially Fulani are the people who retard the progress of Nigeria. Anywhere a Fulani is in charge, its always about nepotism, religious bigotry and stagnation. Imagine a Fulani man in charge of FCT for 8 years, but accomplished nothing!!! ![]() Northern Nigeria was thriving economically and socially, until the Fulani took over via the Jihad of Danfodio, stagnating further progress, creating religious fanatics, almajiris & preventing western education when it arrived.

adecz:It has nothing to do with tribe. Buhari picked Mohammed Bello as Minister because Bello was loyal not because of competency. Bello was weak and lack the leadership skill to Govern the FCT. Meanwhile I haven't heard any press conferences from Ireti Kingibe. Maybe no news to keep her supporters busy 😂. The worse FCT Senator in recent years. |

Sirleo05:Before posting things like this, get informed and understand this: "understand this: infrastructure = jobs + growth." When Dubai and Abu Dhabi were pouring money into mega projects in the early 2000s, that was the foundation of the global city Dubai is today. Meanwhile, in Nigeria, our leaders then were busy with short-term “empowerment programs” instead of investing in roads, power, and critical infrastructure. That failure is a big reason we’re still where we are. Look at Lagos: from Ahmadu Bello Way to Ibeju-Lekki, the busiest economic corridor in Africa today exists because one man made bold infrastructure moves in the early 2000s. Those infrastructural projects created industries, lifted millions into employment, and created new millionaires and billionaires. Handouts don’t build nations. They vanish tomorrow. Infrastructure creates opportunities that last generations. And let’s be honest: why do Nigerians flock to Europe, Canada, the U.S., or South Africa? Because they are developed. If they are not developed no body will go their. Why are Nigerians not going to Honduras, Columbia, Ecuador and the rest? Infrastructural Development is the difference. |
