Was his documents complete?? Did they reach out to him to Submit additional documents like Insurance?? If he had submitted this, then no worries, he'll get his Visa soon. Certain other factors could be responsible for the delay. But no worries he'll get his Visa. He's not the only one yet to hear from the Embassy.

Hello everyone,

I need answer to this. Please.

I do not have BECE, I have a statement of result from my junior secondary school. "Junior School Certificate Examination". and the primary school certificate I have is from my primary school. These were the documents amongst others that I submitted for my admission.

I want to know. Will the embassy accept it?

Note: I wrote Junior WAEC in 2009.

I didn't write FSL exam and don't have any certificate from JS3, what I had for my interview was primary school testimonial and my senior waec, the embassy accepted them.

For clarity, do you mean the primary school testimonial was from your school?

I had my primary school certificate from my primary school. It was not issued by a public school. I attended a private school.

Although, I have a school leaving testimonial from my school (private) that states I had studied from JSS to SSS.

Same as mine, I attended a private school, never went to a public school hence my not writing the FSL exam. You have your documents complete, if you want to acquire more, it's up to you.

This block account is there a way around it ? Like the way people can help with POF for Canada

Please don't make this mistake oo. Just Chill.
Your other appointment is still valid. You don't need the VIDEX form until its time for you to go for your appointment. The VIDEX form is easily accessible online. Just download it and fill it,its part of the documents you'll take along for your Interview.

They can only give you the money to put in a German blocked account e.g Expatrio, Fintiba bearing your name. Remember you can't access this money till you get to Germany. Alternatively, if you have someone who is staying in Germany, he or she can get you a Sponsorship Letter from the foreign Office, only if they meet the requirements.

My circumstance is changed now. Initially I wanted to use a sponsorship letter but it is not possible again because my sponsor has a few person he is sponsoring, hence, his income will not be enough. So, I want to fund a block account.

Which is better Fintiba or Expatrio?

How long does it take to open the account?

Is it free to open?

Kindly inform me about this block account process. Please, it is urgent. my interview is 23rd September 2025. I need to open and fund this account before the date. Help me, please.

I think expatrio is better, I'm currently using fintiba and honestly they have serious wahala.
Also based on what others on this forum have said, fintiba can seriously delay you with their 'proof of source of funds' stuff.

You are only required to fill the Videx form when it's close to your interview for people who booked for appointment before January 2025.

The filling of the Videx form to join before booking an appointment is for people who joined the waitlist using the new portal that started in January 2025.

And no joining the new portal doesn't fast-track you getting an appointment faster. The wait time is still 1 year and 8Months

Hello. Please, do you possibly think it’s a good idea to make my company transfer me to the Ivory Coast branch of our office. This is to be able to process a legitimate work resident permit and an employment certificate that I need to apply for a German visa in the German embassy at Ivory Coast
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by HudsonTaylor: 7:19pm On Sep 04, 2025
My brother just use Expatrio as your appointment is close, that way you'll get a confirmation as soon as you fund the account. Go to their website you'll have the option to choose from their different packages.

Please use expatrio, with their value package, you get access to health insurance and you get the blocked account confirmation at least by the next day.

But best to get on it soon, as they would ask you quite a few questions

Use your school address, you can update it when you get to Germany.

The MAWISTA staff who attended to me told to do so, and that's what I did.

Thanks, what about the 2nd question ?
Also do you now about the travel insurance? For Mawista do you need to pay everything upfront? Or is there a way to set it up that you pay when you arrive?

Hello Everyone, Gooday. Please I have a very important question. I had plans to be in Germany by October 2025 as my school resumes 1stw week October. But I had delays with appointment date and all. But as it is, I will definitely go for my visa appointment next month or November latest and by then school has resumed before I get my visa (by the grace of God). I plan to call my school next week to defer my admission so I can resume October 2026 due to some circumstances I can comfortably resume October next year and not earlier than October 2026. My question now is if I go for my interview in November and drop my passport, will my visa start to read based on the date I choose to arrive Germany (which I will choose September 2026 for arrival). Will this be an issue as this is a year from now? Please if you know the answer help me. Thank you..

How did you register? did you use the link that enables you register without a bank account?

I used a link that allows me register without a bank account. and if your insurance starts on 1st OCT, you must pay on that day. You can request for their account number for you transfer the fund. but be cautious.

"The coverage remains active, and payment for the active period is required, even if you do not arrive in Germany immediately."
