The funny thing about this thread is that EVERY ONE OF YOU POSTERS, if given a choice between an Italian made pair of shoes or bag, and Nigerian made, would IMMEDIATELY choose the Italian.

If given a choice between a vacation in Nigeria and one in France or UK, would INSTANTLY choose the latter.

I doubt even Tinubu hates Nigerian-Made as much as you hypocrites.
If given a choice as president of Nigeria or as ordinary citizen. Wtf are you talking about

He used to travel abroad as much as he could while serving as governor. Now that the president is taking a ten-day leave, some noisemakers are here complaining.
Are you aware of the number of times this year that some of your ministers and governors have taken time off?
They must continue to watch President Tinubu's affairs and complain until 2031 because he has created a duplex in some people's lives.

Ladies and gentlemen, every single trip embarked upon by your president is at your cost; from the money you pay as tax!

Just so you know

Even Trump that doesn't have to travel at all
has made 5 international trips to 8 countries during his second presidency.
USA has almost everything that a nation needs but their President still travels.
Wailers will not like this one bit grin

This is why I respect Obasanjo till this day. He thinks Nigerian and walks Nigerian.

These criminals never get tired of their European masters.
Nobody traveled abroad more than Obasanjo. Though most of his trips were non-medical or personal. But he made the word globetrottering popular. I believe he visited about 103 countries during his tenure.

Obasanjo is actually part of the problem. During his tenure all these mess you are witnessing today was brought back into our politics. You think Edris sang Jaga Jaga for fun? Or Blackfaze's Hard life was just for entertainment? Political opponents were killed, Bola Ige, Funsho Williams, Akande etc. He pursued Fayose from Ekiti via state of emergency and then impeachment. Seized Lagos State's Federal allocation, looked the other way when Ngige a sitting governor was kidnapped. Used El-Rufai as FCT minister to demolish houses, Ribadu at EFFC to harass political opponents. Saw to the impeachment of 3 senate presidents. Used INEC to rig elections, AD was strong in the West, APGA (a new party) in the East, ANPP in the North, but in 2003 elections the way PDP won was like magic, all the western states apart from Lagos went to PDP, same in the East. Ballot box snatching and stuffing was on another level. Let me stop here.

It's finished! Why e be say, our own no dey do us for eye ba? Patriotism starts from admiring and patronizing ur own! Ur own na ur own. Africa leaders would never cease to amaze me, with their highest level of unpatriotism and admiration of their own. The funniest thing is the fact that they keep preaching what they would never practice. So ashame to identify myself with failures and afric colonialists parading themselves as leaders.

Tinubu is truly a serious mistake to have been voted in as President.
Unfortunately can't see any other alternative yet

We were transitioning from military dictatorship to democracy offcourse he had to travel, every other thing is not part of the context of this discussion.

But to clarify some of ur other points, if obasanjo made obvious mistakes during our teething stage democracy should others after him who acknowledge and accuse him of these mistakes now get to power and do worse than him?? undecided

That is where the hypocrisy is.

Your points are very valid and I agree. But if he listened to some of the people who were telling him to correct some of those mistakes back then, we wouldn't be in this mess. As you said the current leaders have no excuse, they should learn from the past and do the right thing.

Going on Leave to anywhere in the world is not my problem. Everyone should go on leave, but there should be an official handover to the VP to act in place of the president

When I tell those who supported Tinubu in 2023 that a lot of them are wicked people, they think I'm just being political with my statement.

It's like these people hate Nigeria and Nigerians with so much passion, this is what fight for supremacy has gotten Nigeria into
It's all about tribal domination! Some Yoruba ppl actually believe that other tribes especially Igbos cannot better their lives! Peter Obi was a better candidate than Tinubu.......at least he understands development economics better than the so called Jagaban!

I'm a Tinubu supporter and I totally believe in his capacity to lead the country, but I'm totally against any president going on vacation in another country. There are many places that he can go amend enjoy 10 days off in Nigeria. He should be promoting others to come and do their vacation in Nigeria.
