Can I use the health insurance throughout my study period? I want to know, maybe I should go on to cancel my MAWISTA insurance. And Can I send this one to TK to send my insurance confirmation to my school?

Also, I want to know, will the embassy ask me the source of the funds in the blocked account?

Please, y'all kindly inform me about this.

Seyoo97:
Please use expatrio, with their value package, you get access to health insurance and you get the blocked account confirmation at least by the next day.

But best to get on it soon, as they would ask you quite a few questions

How did you register? did you use the link that enables you register without a bank account?

I used a link that allows me register without a bank account. and if your insurance starts on 1st OCT, you must pay on that day. You can request for their account number for you transfer the fund. but be cautious.

"The coverage remains active, and payment for the active period is required, even if you do not arrive in Germany immediately."
I haven't registered, I have the link for the application without an account, my question as about travel insurance.
Tye mawista student starts only on the first of october, assuming i want to enter germany before then I'll need a different insurance no? The mawista visum one, but in the application I don't see the option to pay later, and if my full student insurance will start like a week later, I don't want to pay the full amount.

That's why I'm thinking of using Dr Walter, if anyone has experience with them too.

Hello Everyone, Gooday. Please I have a very important question. I had plans to be in Germany by October 2025 as my school resumes 1stw week October. But I had delays with appointment date and all. But as it is, I will definitely go for my visa appointment next month or November latest and by then school has resumed before I get my visa (by the grace of God). I plan to call my school next week to defer my admission so I can resume October 2026 due to some circumstances I can comfortably resume October next year and not earlier than October 2026. My question now is if I go for my interview in November and drop my passport, will my visa start to read based on the date I choose to arrive Germany (which I will choose September 2026 for arrival). Will this be an issue as this is a year from now? Please if you know the answer help me. Thank you..
If you plan to defer your admission after your interview or after you've gotten your visa, you have to go back to the embassy for reissuance if you don't travel within 90 days, and I want you to imagine how that conversation would go and if they'll grant you approval afterwards. Short answer, no, they'll rescind their decision.

If you defer your admission before your interview and attend the interview with a letter of deferment, your chances of getting approval is very unlikely because you just rendered your current admission letter invalid and it could take months, up to Feb/March 2026 (beginning of SoSe) for you to get an updated admission letter. If you defer for 2 semesters (up to Aug/Sept for WiSe), that's an outright rejection because your admission letter is outdated, also they won't hold your passport for a year, and won't give you a visa when it's not time for you to travel according to your invalid documents anyways.

You need a current admission letter for the incoming semester you hope to resume into, which means, either ways, you're getting a visa denial for showing up to the embassy with a deferral.

In a nutshell, if you defer your admission before your AD, cancel your visa appointment, reapply on the new portal and wait for 1 year plus more, because your admission letter would be invalid if you approach them for the interview with that. If you don't defer and you don't travel when you're issued an approval, you may never get another German visa from any country again.

The embassy rejects TK insurance for those under 30 whether it was issued by Expatrio or not, you will be asked for a comprehensive insurance after your interview, that's if you're getting an approval.

Mawista Student Classic Plus covers semester enrolment, health insurance throughout your stay in Germany and travel insurance into Germany, so the embassy accepts this.

Get Mawista Student Classic Plus whether you're under 30 or not. If over 30, submit it via email to TK and ask that they send your school a statutory exemption on your behalf. Use Mawista for enrolment, and take the it along to your interview and avoid unnecessary delays that may slow down the visa decision.

The embassy will not issue you a visa with a start date before your insurance start date. You can't travel before your visa start date, because your visa hasn't kicked in, and also, your insurance date isn't due.

I don't know if you have interviewed yet or gotten your visa but the embassy declined visas because of date discrepancies like sstudy start date not corresponding with insurance start date.

Also, if you get into Germany even on the 31st of the month, you will pay the full amount for health insurance for that month because insurance is charged per month not per day.
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by gosarumese: 5:40pm On Sep 05, 2025
Thank you. I have been enrolled using the MAWISTA health insurance via TK sending the confirmation to my school but the start date is on 1st OCT and my appointment date is 23rd September, the visa process may take up to 3 weeks.

The reason why I sent it to TK hurriedly was because I did not get a response from MAWISTA early (they responded to my email very late. Now I want to cancel it and apply for another one since I have been enrolled for the start date to be 1st November 2025. But my concern again is that the visa might be faster than expected attended and I may still enter Germany in Oct 2025. I am very confused on how to proceed.

MAWISTA policy is that once the insurance date starts even if you are in Nigeria you must continue to pay for the duration stated in the contract. You can not cancel it.

Has anyone used Dr Walter educare24 here?
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by vffur45: 6:02pm On Sep 05, 2025

That's what I mean, to enter germany before the start of the full insurance, I would need a separate insurance plan, such as the mawista visum plan to cover the time before the full insurance starts. Aka incoming insurance.

I can't enter gwrmany the same day my classes start, and you cant put an insurance start date that isn't October 1st. Which is when my classes start.
Don't worry about the gymnastics and maneuvering, your visa date will never start before your so called full insurance start date, so there's no need to anticipate buying an insurance to cover before your "full insurance" kicks in. One could also buy a comprehensive Mawista health insurance that covers for health and travel at oncento prevent further request for incoming health insurance.

Also, incoming insurance is travel insurance which is demanded because your kind of health insurance plan isn't sufficient to cover travel insurance. Travel insurance doesn't mean you're allowed to enter Germany, it only means you're allowed to board a plane headed to Germany as a non-EU resident.

2.The deadline to get admission is 25th of September, i have to get those documents to Germany at least a week before then.
3.DHL will take about 10 days to deliver the documents to Germany. i need the documents to get to Germany latest 18th which means i have to send on the 8th Monday.

Thank you!
So the educare24 plan is just incoming insurance correct? For enrolment I need a different insurance plan?

Under 'start of insurance' you selected the assumed date of arrival correct?

Before Sending to the school the original copy needs to be verified by the German authorities firstly
if the person in Germany takes the scanned version of the document to the authorities there in Germany they will not verify it.

Hello @ vffur. Still on health insurance. A Mawista visum with the start date, 1/10/2025 and Mawista Classic with the start date, 1/11/2025. And semester starts on 1/10/2025. Is there any issue?

Goodmorning. Thank you so so much for taking time to respond to me. Let me explain my circumstances well. I just submitted my application online for preliminary review yesterday (I am going through Ghana for my interview). I was on a wait list for 2month before I was able to be allowed to submit just yesterday. The admission letter I uploaded states my school resumes October 9th and from my calculations I won’t make it. There is a rule with my school that if I am unable to resume before the date, they can shift my resumption to the next batch which is May 2026 or October 2026. I would prefer October. And I would need to call the school to reissue me a new admission letter which takes just 48hrs. Failure to reschedule my resumption date before 9th October will attract about 1k Euro fine. So getting a new admission letter is not an issue. So I went ahead to upload the current admission letter which states 9th October for resumption just to get the process going and if upon interview they see my school has resumed I am sure they will ask me for a new letter from my school. That is where I am confused. If I get a new letter stating I am resuming October 2026 does this sound too far and can they issue a visa that starts to read from September/October 2026? Because yesterday on the site I edited the part where they asked what date am I arriving to Germany, I filled 1st September 2026. It’s only the admission letter I didn’t update before submitting. Please what do you advice?
