I see nobody has mentioned battery capacity tests done by DIY WITH RAY on tiktok. The test was conducted between Felicity, Firman and Cworth Batteries all of 10kwh capacity and the test results were quite interesting with the most popular brands failing woefully. I will suggest people refer to battery capacity tests before recommending any brand. The market is a mess. |

CuteMaro:Only Deye, Firman and Lvtopsun got full capacity. When i saw the cworth own i knew it was a waste of time coz I've 20kwh of cworth and I'm sure that thing has like 14kwh or so in it. You can never be sure of what batteries these brands put in their batteries. The DIY batteries of Valto and mrreed are also only ones you can be sure of capacity. That's why i always go with them plus more affordable. |

ValtechEnergy:Valto, this 12000 cycles of Hithium has been proven to be market strategy. Every brand calculates cycles with 80% capacity but hithium does theirs with 70%. Even the batteries with 6000 cycles at 80% could also meet or surpass 12000 cycles at 70%. Its just marketing so as to use figures and attract people. Nonetheless, hithium cells are good cells when you get their grade A which i know that's what you have. |

Dam5reey:Just saw your video. Haisic performed quite well for the price. So apparently, the most popular brands flying around here have been short changing customers ![]() Buyers beware, stop buying names. The best bang for your bucks apparently are; DIY from Valto and Mrreed (Untested though) Deriy Firman LVtopsun Deye in no particular order. and Haisic. Chief please test Sako if you can, those guys have suffered some bad PR in the past, maybe they can use this opportunity to redeem themselves. ![]() |

CuteMaro:Deriy also made full capacity and are really cheap, just a bit more expensive than our builders. |

CuteMaro:Well said. Where can someone order these batteries directly from the manufacturers? |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Charley2020: 7:13am On Sep 06, 2025 |
CuteMaro:I wish someone would test Valto and Mrreed batteries as well. Those tests would give potential buyers more confidence to patronize our local battery brands because there's a huge lack of trust in Nigerian-made products. But everyone's testing only the popular foreign brands because they know those will attract more views. |

Judgementday666:For the DIY you can contact Valto or Mrreed. Great batteries, with solid build promising more than rated capacity. For the others you can either visit solarissurge dot net by Dammy (Great guy, decent prices), or source out other retailers from here |

I want to express great appreciation to everyone who have supported my journey to power sufficiency. As being said here, "na person wey get sense dey use inverter" lol. Years back, I started with 2 then 4 and then 6 pcs of car batteries including my car battery and the others from my "Kazeem"lol and a MSW inverter then Tubular Batteries... Yesterday I journeed further with an 8kwh 25.6v pack from Mr Reed. I must say, even when I could not see or touch his sample earlier sent to a client of his in my visinity, Port Harcourt, I kept faith and gave him the benefit of doubt. After 2days,i got my pack from Kaduna to port harcourt via waybill and I can say, it feels great. To Georged1, Trippledot, Nnamdi, Mr Reed and one other moniker I can't remember now, really, you guys are more human than humble, just my choice of words here. I highly appreciate all of you. I pick my phone, call all the names above at will and it's always almost unending conversation. TRIPPLEDOT, REED, Georged1. How do I appreciate you guys. Now friends for life I must say. Mr CuteMaro, thanks for your last words to me against all odds and or fear. I understand and can relate when you think I am new on the page so not sure. I lost control of my old account of 2006 recently so no worries brother. I can relate. ... Please let's not hesitate to patronize Mr Reed. His humility, willing to explain to the simplest of details is out of the normal Nigeria business person. He takes, atleast my call just anytime at will calling me Oga, bros, I am no be Oga just as struggling fellow as you.. Lol thank you for your commitment, sincerity, dedication, will to go far out to support when reached out to also as confirmed from one of the names mentioned above. Thank you to everyone for the ideas, knowledge sharing.

Oga Bassdow, My apologies if this is coming late. I get a bit fatigued writting here becos when I start, I just keep going as you. I don't know who writes more bwt you and I in lenght though... Lol... Na jokes abeg... Meanwhile, I followed all your idea about inverter that functions without battery and your intension to have same taking direction from the panels or something like that. Just to draw to your attention, my cc, Ashapower has a function such that once the battery passes certain thresthold, it indicates with a blue light, not necessarily indication battery is full. At such time, what I do is to check if my uv gives me more wattage than my Air Conditioner, if yes, then I power the AC and it stay on pv till it gets cloudy to draw from the battery with a beep. You can check the manual on line to see. I once posted the manual and a few of its inverter-like functions on my old account but it's still available on Amazon.in.. Am giving this info just to water your idea the more and see what you make of it |

Valto:Oh. That's beautiful. Didn't know Gotion had 12k cycle cells. Now, did they say 12k cycles at 80% or at 70%? That's if you understand the marketing strategy remark i made. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by ask4bk(m): 2:31pm On Sep 06, 2025 |
CuteMaro:The DIY have been tested. You may just need Ray to add to his own test catalogue. The only reason they won't is that they are mostly resellers. When they test, they direct people to where to buy. DIY won't favour their business. These big brands also have aftersale services of 5+ years of warranty so if cells or bms fail, they'll easily direct to aftersale centres. DIY like valto and co won't guarantee you that though their battery packs could outlast any big brand battery packs. Buyers want to hear stuffs like 5 years or 10 yrs warranty. Doesn't favor these reviewers. Its coz we are poor in skills but rather rich in gossips, yahoo, saidboj or gehgeh.... If not, in US or Europe, every solar savvy person builds his own battery pack by himself. No one or just few depend on batteries from brands. With DIY, you are sure of your cells and bms. |

Obnoxious2001:Don't underestimate this government when it comes to taxation and revenue generation. I am preparing myself for the what I think is the worse that can happen. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Obnoxious2001(m): 7:53pm On Sep 06, 2025 |
odimbannamdi:The taxation is not too realistic in Nigeria. Just like when Lagos State government was trying to regulate the cost of renting apartment. They couldn't succeed because "they no contribute build the house" meanwhile behind the scenes they have collected their taxes for the documentation of the property. So it's not possible, only possible if you are exporting to grid |
