So I i have this mature turkey I have suffered to train from day old to maturity. Initially they were 3 in number that I raised, have disposed 2, remaining one which happened to be t largest of them all.

So recently, sis put to bed and mum had to leave for her omugwo, so since then I have been the only one staying in our compound.

So as I left for work yesterday, a thief took advantage of our absence, climbed through the fence, and made away with my matured male turkey valued @ 80k.

Rugged thief. But I thought turkeys are noisy how was he successful at stealing it

I highly recommend that you acquire a trained attack baboon to guard your house and back yard. Even before the thief can complete the mission of climbing over the wall, that baboon will start to administer jungle justice in a vigorous and wanton manner.

By the time the dust clears from the life-and-death skirmish, the only items left of the thief will be his shoes and his torn shirt.

So painful to lose a big imported turkey that worth 80k or more. The thief is probably one of your close friends or neighbours who has seen it or know about turkey and where to sell it.

Try to visit where they sell poultry birds in your area and check if you can see it. Also try to stylislishly interrogate some children around you (only say you are looking for a big white turkey), you make take one or two things from their responses. And don't ask them in the present of their parents or adults.

What is even paining me about the whole thing , is not the economic value of the missing livestock , but somebody making a mockery of me . to the thief i am now s fool. Another man labour, another man eat

Secondly , if i had managed to catch the culprit red handed and inflict serious injuries, ( becos i belive what i can do) society wil criticize for doing that.

If na those days, na to carry village juju priest around the neighbourhood to swear for the thief to return the Turkey within 4 market days or run mad.

The thief go just jejely return the Turkey.

I don't know why people are not embracing the CCTV lifestyle in this country is even cheap to install now with Alot of plug and play with a solar panel and sim card everywhere....

definitely the so called thief have been monitoring your movements all through the week or do you notice someone that enters the compound why you are around in the week

Little little security lapses we takes for granted. Could only be Divine protection we underat.

I was just going on about how an average Nigerian is now a terrible person.

And December never reach.

Thieves climbed fence and stole my laptops and gadgets on 2 occasions. Not until I hear they climb fence and steal a Neighbor’s Christmas chicken last year December when he and his family were asleep that I know hin don red for every December.

I use to know thieves climb fence and steal phones, laptop and other accessories when the occupants are not at home. Now they have graduated to stealing turkeys.
When you install cctv you will be surprised that it is someone close that did it

I think CCTV is the best. But if there's no money for CCTV, they should put broken bottles 🍾 on the fence. It's a temporary measures before the CCTV will be erected
