Apostasy began in the garden of Eden when Satan initiated Eve who in turn initiated her husband and these three became rebels against God! The purpose for which God created us is just one simple purpose: that they may have life and enjoy it to the fullest! But then there is one thing God derives from creation: happiness as His creations are living fine and happily doing His will. What is God's will? For them to continue doing things in line with the purpose for which He created them so as long as they are living by the standard God set they will always make Him happy for being their Creator. So the word "WORSHIP" connotes being in agreement with someone always whether we know the reason or not! Satan as a spirit son of God felt this idea doesn't make sense because all the glory and honor goes to just one person: our Almighty Creator. So Satan decided to get worshipers for himself at least for them also to start doing his will without questioning his authority. Of course he knew very well that this is not going to be easy after all the angels in heaven knew their Creator very well and the first human couple also knew their Creator. From where will Satan now get his own worshipers since he can't create any living being? That's what made him a slanderer because he needs to slander the Creator in order for the created to turn against God. Since the first human couple don't know any other intelligent being other than their Creator Satan needs to plan his scheme intelligently otherwise he will fail so he decided to speak with Eve the last creature made in Eden. Note that the order for Adam and his children not to eat the forbidden fruit was given only to Adam who passed on the message to Eve so she is the inexperience one here. Satan didn't ask her directly what God said regarding the fruit instead he generalized the question: “Did God really say that you must not eat from every tree of the garden?" Genesis 3:2 This statement actually came out from a creature that's not made to talk so Eve was amazed that the snake could talk she began responding: “We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden. But God has said about the fruit of the tree that is in the middle of the garden: ‘You must not eat from it, no, you must not touch it; otherwise you will die.’” Genesis 3:2-3 It's time for Satan (the powerful angel using a snake as puppet) to hit the nail on its head: “You certainly will not die. For God knows that in the very day you eat from it, your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and bad" Genesis 3:4-5 Let's break down Satan's statement: (1) No, God lied to you. (2) There is nothing like death. (3) God is hiding good things from you. (4) By eating it enlightenment will come. (5) You will become God on your own. (6) You won't need anyone to tell set standards for you again instead you will be the one setting the standard for others. And instantly Eve the inexperience one started having a change of heart then she took the fruit and ate it. Hence Satan's mission is accomplished Adam love his wife so much that instead of waiting for God to see what happens to Eve he quickly ate the fruit too after all that's the creature God gave him as a helper so he will tell God "the helper you gave me said i can eat it" Genesis 3:12 So that is how apostasy began in Eden because the fruit signifies authority to set standards which belongs only to God but now that Adam and Eve have eaten it they can now prove how the standard they wish to set will bring lasting benefit. From that time till today anyone following Satan's footsteps must slander those chosen to lead in worship just to create division among worshipers of the true God! |

No where in Genesis does it say, "and God created a serpent called satan", so smart people should wonder where that serpent came from. Was there another God creating somewhere else, perhaps? What we can very clearly read is some humans were created in God's image to rule the earth and subdue and multiply and be blessed, while some humans were created from mud to slave naked in the Garden of Eden. The images of God were not given any laws, while the mud was told not to eat fruits of knowledge. And the mud was lied to that he would die if he ate fruits of knowledge, and some will convince you he did die, like 800 years after eating the fruit that would surely kill him. If I want to enslave you, I must use fear, and lies, and ensure you remain ignorant, and somehow, between Genesis 1 and 2, those things crept in, which is very likely considering the editing and rewriting and deletions that occurred to give us the book we read today. If your God tells you fruits of knowledge will kill you, then I strongly suggest you question that God. And if your church preaches knowledge kills, then they perhaps just need you for tithes. Jesus would not have been a slave owner, and he promised you the eternal life that the Genesis 3 God "placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life". Hopefully, you can see the contradictions in the text, and therefore apply your own ability to critically reason, instead of mere believing what satans who want to enslave you want you to believe.

MaxInDHouse:Perhaps its you who should read people's post carefully before jumping in to respond. I am disagreeing with everything you wrote, and I am claiming the initial purpose described for humans as created in Genesis 1 has been corrupted by Genesis 2 when mud humans were created. If a satan can meddle in the Garden of Eden, it sure could have meddled between Genesis 1 and Genesis 2, I'll have it considered by those who may. Regardless. Considering oneself created from mud, is different from considering oneself created in God's image. And I know which I would prefer since I'd rather not be an ignorant naked slave to anyone or anything, and would hate to be deprived of the nourishment gained from eating fruits of knowledge. I would never agree to be part of an organisation that encourages the non-use of the God created brain in my head, because I want to be much more than a naked ignorant gardener. And I hope those who read this thread will consider both our views and choose which they would rather be. |

MaxInDHouse:Max, I don't want to engage you at all. And in all sincerity, my response here is not to engage you, but to present an opposing view to yours for readers to consider for themselves. The Bible is very clear for those who have eyes to see and can read. The Image of God was created on day 6, and was told to rule the entire earth and subdue and multiply and be blessed, and to eat every seed bearing fruit, which clearly included the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. While the creation from mud was after God is written to have rested on day 7, which means on day 8 or afterwards, and it was ordered to work naked in a tiny garden, which is not the earth. And was told not to eat the fruits of the tree of knowledge, which anyone with a brain of their own in their head that they know how to use would see would make the creation from mud ignorant and unable to rule and subdue anything at all, not to talk of a garden they don't even own, or a earth they are too îgnorant to know exists or understand the implication of ruling. Now, it does favour church leaders to have naked ignorant creations from mud in their churches that they can control and exploit. And I can see how many have been convinced a creation in God's image is the same as a creation from mud, but I know that ignorance and darkness can not forever overcome the Light of Knowledge and Understanding, and I have faith in the human ability to eventually use their own senses to see and reason. England did it. They realised they don't need to be mud, and can be created in God's image, and it led to them creating an empire on which the sun never set. And I know we will too, once we abandon the îgnorant belief your sort peddle, and understand what we read with our own God given senses. |

MaxInDHouse:Long before your Bible, which many accept has been edited and corrupted by JWs, the Torah itself was edited with lots of very bad bits removed, and translations had additions and omissions, and that's apart from those done when Christians got hold of it. So calling a book written and edited by human beings in itself, God's word, just shows how little you know. Notwithstanding, one can make it God's word with a godly understanding. A God will not create different classes of human beings. And a God that does should not be worshipped by those created as lower class naked îgnorant slaves. Amazingly, the story in the first 5 chapters of Genesis 1 teach people how to elevate themselves from ignorant naked slaves to creations in God's Image. One just need see Adam's supposed achievement of being elevated by Eve from naked ïgnorant mud into a self employed populator of the entire earth with human beings. But I guess some slaves need others to remain slaves like them, and would therefore peddle the îgnorance that they îgnorantly believe. Jesus never taught such tripe, and would rather you know you are gods with usable senses, and not îgnorant believing mud. Hence the Word, which is not just the literal word as you believe, but the implications of what is believed and understood. |

MaxInDHouse:You are not in anyway my concern, and my posting in this thread need not concern you if you don't want it too. My claim, despite any corruption, is not the Bible's corruption, but the corruption of understanding the current Bible by people like you who can not see the difference between a creation in God's image, and a creation from mud. Those created in God's image can not be created from mud, unless you want to claim your God is created from mud, which I doubt you'd dare. Only those who want to subjugate others would peddle such nonsense. The slave owners in the United States did the same by not letting their slaves read at all, because reading is the result of eating fruits of knowledge. And we all know the result of them learning to read contributed to their emancipation, just as a God would want, and as Jesus taught. |

So apostasy originated from those three rebels: Satan, Adam and Eve. These three persons chose to liberate or free themselves from having anything to do with God and ever since then humans that came after them must choose either to be on God's side or on the side of rebels (apostates) The first human born outside the garden of Eden is called "Cain" this man proved to be an apostate. How? Eve later realized that she had been thoroughly deceived {Genesis 3:13 compare to 1Timothy 2:14} so when she had her first child which is a male child Eve thought this is the child who will destroy the evil snake that misled her as God said in Eden {Genesis 3:15} but she's wrong because the woman God was talking about isn't Eve. Eve must have related what happened in the garden and why those angels stood at the entrance of the garden preventing anyone from entering that's why Cain felt he is the promised child but by the time himself and his younger brother each presented a sacrifice to God and God accepted Abel's offering Cain felt really sad and he decided Abel must not live. He eventually killed Abel and that made him the first apostate born outside the garden of Eden. From that time the enmity foretold between those who will humbly and obediently follow God's orders and those who will give excuses for being rebellious began its fulfillment. So how can we distinguish between the faithful, humble and obedient individuals and arrogant apostates? To be continued... |

Throughout mankind history apostates always turn against God's arrangement but unlike their ancestors Satan, Adam, Eve and Cain later apostates now claim they are on God's side but what is their IDENTIFYING MARK? Note that after Satan, Adam, Eve and Cain rebelled against God they all had to stay away from whatever has to do with God's arrangement so all apostates hates organized form of worship where humble people works together to do God's will instead each apostate keep on seeking his/her own personal interest just as Satan, Adam, Eve and Cain did. From time to time apostates are never organized in doing anything meaningful. WHY? Because each one will be asking for his or her own personal benefit instead of humbly submitting to whatever the whole association of faithful people agreed to do for the good of one and all. That is why apostates can't form one religion peacefully hence after they leave true religion they are scattered just as Jesus foretold! Luke 11:23 |

MaxInDHouse:And this is the rub of it, isn't it. It pains you that you can't get people to join your JWness, which would not be the case if you had anything worthwhile to offer, or weren't intending to subjugate people to your will and desires like your supposed God did in the Garden of Eden. Thankfully, Jesus don't care what organisation one belongs to, for his God loves everyone, regardless of the organisation they may be in, so far as they love their neighbours and their (not your!) God. |

Whoever fails to present another group as a replacement for his former religion but keep on spreading bad reports about his former religion is no longer a worshiper of the true God that's exactly what all apostates does right from the beginning till now! |
| Re: JW 047 Why I Left But Still Can't Forget My Former Religion! by MaxInDHouse(op): 5:55pm On Sep 08, 2025 |
Satan, Adam, Eve and Cain all rebelled against God because they seek their own selfish ambitions so when anyone is pointing accusing finger at his or her former religion or religious leaders ask such a person if he or she has found something better to show others so that they can also leave falsehood and join him or her in doing God's will along with His true worshipers! Satan, Adam, Eve and Cain never returned and so each of them continued seeking their personal interest that is why they stayed away from God's organized worshipers!🙂 |

David said: Look! How good and how pleasant it is For brothers to dwell together in unity! It is like fine oil poured on the head That runs down the beard, Aaron’s beard, And runs down onto the collar of his garments. It is like the dew of Herʹmon That descends on the mountains of Zion. That is where Jehovah decreed his blessing —Life everlasting. Psalms 133:1-3 Paul said: And let us consider one another so as to incite to love and fine works, not forsaking our meeting together, as some have the custom, but encouraging one another, and all the more so as you see the day drawing near. Hebrews 10:24-25 Satan will never welcome this but note one funny thing about Satan: he always loves to attend meetings with the children of God {Job 1:6} with what mission? To complain about how God's children are doing! Job 1:9-11 So today his children are found in the gathering of God's children recording everything we do so as to report any error or flaws but since Satan has been completely ousted (kicked out) from heaven {Revelations 12:7-12} himself and his children now focus on whatever God's people are doing and since there's no chance anymore to accuse us before our God {Revelations 12:10} Satan now spread bad reports about God's people seeking gullible listeners who won't verify what they are hearing! 1Thessalonians 5:21 ![]() |

In the first century Judaism is the religion John the baptist met in Israel but what message does this great prophet have for the religious leaders of Judaism of the first century? “You offspring of vipers, who has warned you to flee from the coming wrath? Therefore, produce fruit that befits repentance. Do not presume to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children for Abraham from these stones. The ax is already lying at the root of the trees. Every tree, then, that does not produce fine fruit is to be cut down and thrown into the fire. I, for my part, baptize you with water because of your repentance, but the one coming after me is stronger than I am, whose sandals I am not worthy to take off. That one will baptize you with holy spirit and with fire. His winnowing shovel is in his hand, and he will clean up his threshing floor completely and will gather his wheat into the storehouse, but the chaff he will burn up with fire that cannot be put out.” Matthew 3:7-12 If the religious leaders in Judaism are not worthy before God surely Judaism is no longer acceptable because the leaders will render it unfruitful! Matthew 3:10 Jesus of Nazareth also grew as a Judaist he tried to correct the wrong beliefs of their religious leaders but met fierce opposition so he started gathering his own group to replace Judaism. His mother and brothers thought Jesus has lost his senses because he doesn't think in line with what he was taught as a child rather he is teaching something totally new. So when his mother and brothers came looking for him someone said to Jesus: “Look! Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, seeking to speak to you.” Matthew 12:47 What was Jesus' reply? “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” And extending his hand toward his disciples, he said: “Look! My mother and my brothers! For whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven, that one is my brother and sister and my mother" Matthew 12:48-50 Certainly Jesus has turned his back on Judaism and whoever continues in that religion, and he has gathered another group of worshipers to replace Judaists that's why he said regarding anyone still practicing that religion: “Keep following me, and let the dead bury their dead.” Matthew 8:22 After Jesus has gathered another group of worshipers whoever remains in Judaism is as good as a walking corpse in God's sight no wonder Jesus made it clear that his real families are people who are now doing the will of God that he is teaching! Matthew 12:48-50 So have you abandoned your former religion? Have you found a better replacement for the one you left? If Jesus set up a replacement for Judaism surely whoever leaves his religion is not wrong but when you fail to get a better performing group then you don't belong to Jesus!🙂 |
