Ideally, the responsibility of protecting citizens lives rests with the government. If well-laid policies are in place, companies like Dangote will readily follow suit.
Realistically, the ministry of transport ought to establish a clear driving policy that must be strictly followed. For example, all truck drivers should be required to undergo a driving medical evaluation before being licensed to drive, in order to ensure the safety of road users. Individuals with uncontrolled epilepsy, neurological conditions, serious heart problems or similar health issues should not be allowed to drive heavy trucks/even cars or even given a license permit without passing a proper driving medical assessment.
Therefore, the real approach and key questions should be directed to the Ministry of Transport. Once proper rules and regulations are enforced, everyone else will comply. Right now, Nigeria feels too disorganized and it is costing lives.

Not only this, primarily to evade extortion by the Police, VIO, FRSC, 'agberos', union and what have you.

This is why we have technology ffs.

Build a vehicle identification system with unique IDs on all vehicles and drivers. Partner with the FRSC and others and let them also have a portal that allows them scan those vehicles.

That way, it would be very easy to catch imposters.

Does it mean that all the accidents involving Dangote trucks are false?

Although a few misguided individuals may have fraudulently used its logo, majority of the accidents that have occurred are Dangote's.

One of their trucks destroyed my L300 bus and we went to their depot and met the people in charge.They agreed to repair it which they failed to do.I learnt more about them from this ugly experience.I even went to the office of the so called big man but he was not in the country..Police advised me to get a lawyer but who will take a big company to court and who will make the judgement.Rich people shit for body you clap for them.Lets behave like modern people,you have no right to be using trucks to destroy properties with perfect impunity.The Company cannot change.

I work in the field and i know this because i see a lot of indigenous companies buying cars and equipment and leaving it as the bought it to evade taskforce , police checkpoints and others, so if u are not sure of what u are saying dont be too loud about it.

You are bringing a strawman argument , the argument here is on truck owners impersonating dangote trucks, not on dangote trucks causing argument

In any decent country where laws are obeyed if you kill anybody while driving you will not do such a thing again in your life.The legal system is part and parcel of the sick nation.No company abroad can go about destroying properties.Let them supply us wit the comprehensive list of houses they have destroyed.Let them supply the list of vehicles they have destroyed without compensations and lastly the number of people they have killed killed,bread winners that they have killed.The Richest man in Africa is not yet born.

The competent court should be International in nature or ECOWAS and outside your rotten country and the amount to be sued for should be over 500b for all those families that have been killed and disfigured by their trucks.
