The Minister of the FCT, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, has said that places of worship in the territory remain shut based on advice from medical experts and guidelines from the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.

Churches and mosques have been shut down for the past two months as part of measures to check the spread of COVID-19.

Malam Bello, who held a meeting with representatives of the FCT Christian and Muslim communities led by the FCT Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Chairman, Dr. Samson Jonah, and the FCT League of Imams Initiative (FLII), Dr. Tajudeen Mohammed Bello Adigun, explained that medical experts and the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 had directed that all measures approved two weeks earlier be extended for another two weeks.

A statement by the minister’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Anthony Ogunleye, quoted Bello as saying, “Based on the guidance of the medical experts and consultations with the highest authority, the presidential task force gave a decision and communication on the fact that all the measures approved two weeks ago be extended for another period of time to enable organisations, individuals and all of us plan for a gradual opening up of the society.”

According to the minister, the meeting acknowledged that the primary concern of all leaders and public officials was to save lives and this involves monitoring very closely reports from the health authorities which indicate that after nine weeks of the pandemic and attempts to curtail its spread, not much has changed.

He stressed that use of face masks would be compulsory while hand washing and social distancing would also have to be adhered to when places of worship eventually reopened.

City News gathered that the meeting was called at the behest of the religious leaders who requested for the reopening of places of worship in the FCT, following pressure from their followers.

People should better practice to worship God with their body. By the way your body is the temple of God. Not the cement and block. COVID 19 or no Covid 19 people should keep their taste for God burning.

It's OK! God understands. What matters most is your personal relationship with him and not just the congregation.

God deals with us as individuals and not as a group.

Below image is the position of Our Holy Bible on this particular issue.
If any religious leaders flaunt this advice, then that means they are not serving the Almighty God, the creator of heaven and earth.

Our God is not a God of confusion!

And all of us @MANNABBQGRILLS take what the Holy Book says in awe and preeminence.

Take heart Guys,
This too Shall pass.
We are getting to see the end of this evil virus pretty soon.
Stay safe y'all!

That doesn't take away the place of the coming together of the believers.

No single believer is a church, but just a member of the the body.

For the body to be whole all members of the boby need to come together.

Search the scriptures, you will find several times and instances the word congregation is used and the implications of congregating.

What about those who are not strong in the faith?

How sincere can you be with your personal relationship with God, like you have stated in the last few months?

These our religious leaders are becoming stupid. Is it the call from their sheepish followers or the safety of everyone coming to worship that should determine their call to open the places of worship. If the followers cannot be faithful to God at home at this short period then all the works you have been doing all these while has been futile. Except they are telling me that they have other ulterior motives for the rush in opening of worship centres
