Business like waste management is hard to start if the law to enforce people not to dump refuse in open space is not passed. It’s a very great business idea but the fact that Nigerians still prefer to dump in water ways and open place where government have to pack it won’t let them want to pay for it.

In this economy 500k is not much to start a income source that you are not directly involved with. Will you consider N200 daily or 6k monthly a reasonable income on 500k if your capital is 100% secure while you save up more money?
If you do, then consider fixing 500k for 3, 6,9 or even 12 months. That should give you roughly 80k per year, 40 for 6 months or 6k monthly after taxes. Atlest your money no go lost, investment gurus no go collect your money take buy "Benz". Lol.
My "guy" de so am only say na 1.2m him de collect monthly as him money pass your 500k small. The only yawa na say our current inflation rate under this yeye government na 22% whick means when you put money for fix deposit at 14-18% over time inflation still de hit the money, but in the meantime e de safer than to loose all your money on top say you de find passive income.

You are asking to be scammed. You cannot start a business without being present. You can only be absent from a business after you have built it to some extent. Outside of that, you must be present.

If anything, invest it into whatever made you the 500k. And if you do not want that, you can lock it in Piggyvest for a year. The interest should be around 20% or so. Outside of that, there isn't much out there. 500k is not a lot in this economy.

OP wanted a passive income but only has N500k. And I responded to a quote that waste management is beyond her/his reach. As ab insider This are my reasons:

He can only pay or employ people to collect waste for him. How many can you employ for N500k and How many waste can you realistically collected in a day for that amount. And when you collect whats the probability, you will find something of worth. Nobody will accept such job except Aboki. And they will not collect nothing less 50 million or more from you. That 50 million self, its person eyes never open will collect it.

Because without your money, they can still collect the waste and sell. So moneybags invest more money. I know someone that invested N5 billion into this. Indians and Chinese have investment and they exported our own waste and sell abroad. Eyes Don Open

They are desperate now, they already collect money in advance for waste and they will have to deliver it. They now do and steal anything now to meet those target.

Waste Management as per my knowledge is divided into:

Collection
Sorting
Recycling
Exporting

Collection
I am based in Lagos, anyhow person cannot collect waste except LAWMA and their PPP contractors. You can get into this only if you know someone in Government. You cant just show up at an estate gate and say you want to collect their waste even for free. That could get you arrested in Lagos. I dont know of other state. Remember its was the waste matter that made Ambode not to come 2nd term.

To collect in Lagos, you need Waste Trucks and need to employ drivers and other staff. So the investment in that is HUGE.

Well the reality of our present circumstances as Nigerians is the fact that 9 - 5 is not enough and we must be careful in choosing an investment option. My only advise is that we should never settle for a business whr your business will be absent, my friend investment 3.5M in food stuff business and lost t all because of wickedness of men. I will suggest you begin hoarding of food items a capital of million is good.

The fastest way to double your money is to fold it twice and put it in your pocket ..🤔

In a place like Lagis, this is illegal. Only LAWMA is empowered by law to pick up waste and dispose.

All these junkies scaled the fence of our house in the night stole two of my bicycles, Armoured cable of our soundproof nd cut out almost 60 % of the wires in a three storey building and sold them to one guy that buys condemn,I called my ppl.on the streets nd they tracked the guy with my Airmax canvass he stole nd was wearing nd the guy led us to the scrap guy,all of them have been arrested nd is either they settle me or they re charged to court
