Pandemonium broke out at the planned formal declaration of Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, Labour Party’s former governorship candidate in Lagos, into the African Democratic Congress (ADC), after thugs allegedly linked to a political party stormed the venue of the defection and unleashed violence on ADC members, News360 Nigeria reports.

According to reports, the thugs armed with dangerous weapons, attacked people at the venue of the defection in the full glare of the police who were said to be present at the venue in the Alimosho area of the state.

While speaking with newsmen, GRV said that security operatives and armed groups had blocked access to the original venue of the event, despite full payment having been made.

Rhodes-Vivour was said to have been informed by police officers that the directive came “from above” and was advised to take the matter up with the Commissioner of Police.

He paraded his personal photographer who sustained injuries and had his equipments damaged during the attack.

You know how those touts behave when given free hand and they know no one will hinder their actions. Even some of their phones and properties won't be left behind. They won't have time to grant interviews. From the video, you will see that gbadebo seemed not even aware of what happened until he was called to come and interview the person injured? This is what I just hate about Tinubu and his people. They don't give room for fair contest . The only time a room for fair contest was allowed in Lagos , Tinubu was defeated squarely . If they continue this way, they may give the military the excuse to strike which would even be better for all of us .
