A former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai has commenced a campaign for the Continuous Voters’ registration exercise across Nigeria, News360 Nigeria reports.

El-Rufai who spoke during a church service urged women to ensure that their children and other loved ones take part in the ongoing CVR exercise.

Stating that the governance system in Nigeria is democratic, the former governor and member of the coalition party, the African Democratic Party (ADC) said the people must be involved in electing their leaders.

He said, “The governance of our country today is democratic, we elect our leaders, we don’t select them; we don’t appoint them.

“So, voting is important. Registering to vote is a civic duty, it is not a political imperative. It is a civic duty which as a citizen, you must take advantage of.

“Looking at the numbers on the voters registration across Nigeria in the last two weeks, the Southeast, including Imo state, of course, are lagging behind.

“I want to appeal to you, our mothers, our sisters and our daughters who are in this room to please take this up and get our children who are 16 years and above, who would be 18 years by 2027 and ready to vote; to please go out and register. It is very very important,” El-Rufai noted.

So because of voters registration this dude visited a church. He didn't go to worship, reverence God, or repent, but to preach a political message that's biting him hard. It's an insult on Christianity. A man who is happy to see churches burnt and openly celebrated Muslim Muslim ticket is now going to church just to campaign because he has lost out.
Mallam Rufai, the Bible tells us that a Leopard cannot change it's spots and that an Ethiopian cannot change his colour. Go to the mosques and do your political campaign. A church is meant for worship and praising God.

Of a fact the North understands politics better. They know it's a game of numbers and even if you want to rig, you need the numbers.

Peter Obi nerds to learn from these guys, his lock down block the East have the capacity to deliver more votes and if he needs to make an impact, he should encourage his fans or followers to register and make their vote count.

He is quite right. However this one that he even came to Church even though I know it's not the first time shows that the opposition is serious about power change and to take power. Hmnn let's see how it goes. However voter apathy is really a thing of concern. People are tired and have lost hope in the electoral system or even in the political leadership of our country. They prefer to take nkwobi, beer, play ball or just whole away time during elections.
