Court Clears Goodluck Jonathan to Contest 2027 Presidential Election

A Federal High Court sitting in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, has declared that former President Goodluck Jonathan is constitutionally eligible to contest the 2027 presidential election.

Justice Isa Dashen ruled that Jonathan’s swearing-in in 2010, following the death of President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, was not by election but a constitutional succession. He explained that Jonathan had only been elected once, in 2011, which does not violate the constitutional limit of being elected president twice.

The court further held that the 2017 constitutional amendment, which took effect in June 2018 and bars any person who completed another’s tenure from being elected more than once, could not be applied retroactively to Jonathan since his situation occurred before the amendment came into effect.

The judgment, which has not been challenged, clears the way for Jonathan to legally participate in the 2027 presidential race, expected to take place in February 2027.

There is more honour and peace of mind to Oga Gej, as a national stateman than being a stressful president battling to repair the damages and misrule done by the APC government upon the Nigeria political space, turning the nation to the most insecure place globally and the poverty capital of the world.
4yrs mandate of Gej's second coming can never effect any tangible repair to these havocs caused by these APC governments against the Nigerian Nation and her citizens.

The first question you should ask yourself is presently in the Nigerian Political wave who's more popular. If Obi and Gej should contest Obi will beat him flawlessly. Stop comparing the past with the present so it's GEJ that should sit not Obi.

Career? What career do you speak of? What is there to be attained that he hasn't already? Definitely not world president. But if he wants more in his career, what would he have gone for if not the presidential seat, which of course he has one more right to sit upon?

The only negativity you can speak about is the amount of money he would spend for campaign, that's if there isn't some sponsors and God fathers willing to do that.

He is still within the career and that's the presidential seat, but manifesting it is the obstacle and headache he has to battle with.
