Do You Think This New Offer Is Worth Considering, Or Should I Just Reject It Out by Hamachi(op): 5:09pm On Sep 07, 2025
Good afternoon and Happy Sunday fam,

I just got an offer for a remote accounting role paying $66 (no data allowance), but the catch is—it also requires me to double as the operations person.

Meanwhile, I’m currently working remotely as a Manager, earning over $200 (excluding data allowance), and I also have several years of solid accounting experience under my belt.

With the clear pay gap and extra responsibilities, do you think this new offer is worth considering, or should I just reject it outright? 🤔

Honestly, this offer isn’t worth it. You’re already earning over $200 in your current remote Manager role, and they’re offering just $66 with even more responsibilities. That’s a huge step down, not just in pay but in value recognition.

With your accounting background and years of experience, you should be positioning yourself for higher-paying, specialized roles—not settling for less. Unless there’s a clear long-term benefit (like global exposure, networking, or a direct path to something bigger), I’d advise you to reject it politely and keep your focus where your worth is properly appreciated.

In short: Don’t downgrade yourself. Protect your value.

I don’t think all that is necessary. If you have advice to offer, give it. If not, it’s okay to just say nothing. Not everything needs commentary. But hey — what do I know.

Yes, consider it. The $66 will buy you more than the $200 you now earn.

And before anyone quotes me, use brain to consider the absurdity of this thread!

Lol. I myself was wondering what was the guy's issue actually. The only logical thing I could think of is maybe he doesn't like being a manager, and wants to pursue accounting which he's more experienced in and is willing to commit a pay suicide for that.
