Dr Stephen Akintayo has come under several cyber attacks and caught up with many allegations from his multi billion real estate business. Recall that the Dubai based CEO came under a recent attack when he charged about $30,000 for a leadership conference in the real estate corners outside the country, a move which did not sit well with many Nigerian youths who found it insensitive due to the situation of the economy. In a latest development, one of his trolls recently needed a help to raise about N60 million for an operation for his dying mother, which made the philanthropist realtor, Dr. Steven Akintayo to offer N1 million naira in support of the fundraising but not just that, he cited the ugly event that first made him encounter the benefactor's son. This yet again, raises the fury of many netizens who evaded Steven Akintayo's platform to demand that he should retrieve his statement or else he would be refunded his donation outrightly. The billionaire CEO bowed to pressure after apologizing to the public and making peace with Emeka (the son of the beneficial) but that was not all as the Gtext CEO, Stephen Akintayo, has come to pen down what looked like his sign off from the social media space due to its rashness and unwelcoming to people like him. Below his what he said: I currently work with three other social media managers, making us a team of four. However, I’ve been seriously considering leaving. While I truly love the fact that social media allows us to add value to others, the toxic side of it has left me feeling drained, sick, and tired. I now understand why people like Femi Otedola choose not to use smartphones or WhatsApp. The constant exposure to negativity can be overwhelming and, at times, unbearable. What frustrates me the most is the double standard. On days when people troll you and you remain silent, others say, “Why didn’t you defend yourself?” Yet, the moment you choose to speak up, those same people accuse you of being arrogant. It feels like a no-win situation. The people talking dont even have a clue what life is. Many dont have an idea what you face daily. They dont wear your shoes but pick on your imperfection like they are angels . I have never claim to be perfect on social media but i have remain authentic to myself. Thats all i can offer . My pastor once said, “They don’t quote silence, but sometimes silence sounds like guilt.” That statement has stayed with me. I’ve reached the point where I’ve made up my mind: perhaps it’s time to step away from social media. Maybe it’s better left for the younger generation who can handle it differently. I’m not entirely sure this space is for me anymore. The pressure, the constant judgment, and the toxicity seem to outweigh the joy of creating value. I would rather protect my peace than stay in an environment that drains me. What do you think—should I step away completely, or is there another way to navigate this? Stephen Akintayo.

Why would a business mogul want to quit social media because of cyber bullying. After decades of running businesses, he should be used to negativity from humans. |

kunlesufyan:Cyber bullying is real as it has sent many to a journey of no return. Those who could withstand the pressure are not up to 1%. |

You're correct. However, he has been in business for over a decade. He should have developed a thick skin. Easyincome24: |

kunlesufyan:That's where you get it wrong. Any businessman can deal with negativity from their target audience but undue negativity from random nonentities who can't even afford your services or cross your path on a normal day is where they draw the line. The mistake he made was trying to be liked by people. He should have left his account to be handled by social media managers only and only speak when absolutely necessary and relates with his business. A lot of people on social media have terrible lives and try to make the lives of others terrible as well. So it's never a win-win for you. They have nothing to lose. In the worst case, they still get your attention but you will always leave bruised. |

kunlesufyan:Thick skin is not as easy as you said it. If you read what he posted, he was so tired of the double sides of people. I believe he should take a break from social media razzmatazz to face his business. |

Houseofglam7:That's the reality of life. Funny enough some of these trolls could be broke like a rat yet once they read or know of your fame, they become grievous. |
