Look, This changes EVERYTHING. The Chinese company, backed by President Xi Jinping, which offered to do this project, has finally produced the ''Proof of Funding'' as was demanded by the National Assembly in Abuja. So signing the deal is just a formality right now. This project will connect every Nigerian city and town with highly advanced, high speed BULLET TRAINS, of the type that are only available in China and a couple of other countries today. Even America doesn't have it. It will completely transform the transport ecosystem of this country. A farmer in Sokoto will be able to harvest his crop this morning, and by 4pm, it's in his customer's shop in Lagos or Enugu. Zero stress. Job creation will skyrocket. Nigeria's ranking in Ease of Doing Business will skyrocket to top 10 on Earth, if not top 5. Cost of food will drop dramatically as farmers nationwide no longer depend on road transport through rough terrains. Business productivity, delivery services etc etc will BOOM. The positive effects of this project are almost indescribable. How on Earth President Tinubu got Xi Jinping to approve this project, only God knows. He is indeed the Jagaban of Africa. This is easily the biggest project in Nigerian history. Nigeria Secures $60 Billion Dollar Chinese Bullet Train Deal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YW6OHIlp1CE |

This is massive. Inasmuch as this look and sounds good, $60billion no be moi moi. The reason for this train is because of terrorism. Why providing bullet proof train? Are they telling use it has come to stay? @terrorism. Why not totally deal with these guys so that even the farmers can really go to their farms with peace of mind as it used to be during the time of PDP? Modified, I just read 2ru and discovered it's not bullet proof rather the shape and speed. Those who fink when you say anything that sounds against Tinubu its hate and that person automatically is from one region, na you gan gan be the epitome of hate. |

I hope this is true. The fact is, one reason why roads wear out in this country is overuse. All freight is transported by road here, for example. Almost all passenger traffic is by road. And so forth. Waiting and watching. We need this railways, even if na slow narrow gague. |

The greatest danger that would face ANY railway project in countries like Nigeria where terrorism is endemic, is the derailing of trains by terrorists, as occurred a number of months ago in Northern Nigeria, in an incident that witnessed multiple kidnappings, gunshot injuries and deaths. The Achilles heel of any rail system is those vulnerable railroad tracks that stretch for hundreds of miles traversing desolate landscapes which cannot be policed continuously. Any amateur terrorist with a quantity of explosives no bigger than a cigarette pack, can utterly destroy railway lines, and thus Immobilize all trains that ply those tracks. Once a train ha been derailed, all the freight cars or passenger cars of that train will be at the mercy of the bandits or kidnappers that cut the rails. Train robberies were a fixture of America's Old West, when horses were the primary mode of transport and the Six Gun WAS the law. Fast forward a few hundred years and Nigeria is now the Wild West of Africa, where bandits ride motorized horses and wield Kalashnikov rifles rather than Six-Guns. Before any railway project can be trusted by the public in Nigeria, the terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping plague that besets the entire nation MUST be addressed militarily. In practical terms, all funding earmarked for this latest railway project should instead be used to purchase FLEETS of surveillance and ground-attack drones for the purpose of declaring a full-scale war on terror/kidnapping gangs, obliterating them the instant they gather preparatory to any mission of destruction. |

Believe anything the Govt says at your own peril. On the 3rd of Sept they said they had met 2025 forecasted income from crude oil sale and there is no need to borrow money. Two days later on the 5th of Sept we heard the Govt wants to borrow fresh 1.8 billion dollars from world bank.

joeyswift:There's nowhere the Govt said they are no longer borrowing externally, rather the President says the Govt no longer borrow from local banks. The President also confirmed that "non-oil revenue" target for the year has been met. He never said total revenue. It's just that your ears are tingling in hate and chose to hear what you what to hear. I wonder how you guys have been able to survive these years in this constant negativity and self-hate . I can't find myself surviving a day in negativity and hate, my lifespan would have been gravely affected. God bless Nigeria. -Kiss the truth! |

Lots of Sycophants on this thread living in denial. Paid peanuts to support rubbish. Go and access and fix the services of the existing trains.... They are dirty, overcrowded, they run late, very poor ventilation and God help you if they breakdown or derail in the middle of nowhere. May Nigeria not happen to you. |
