FIRST LADY LAUNCHES N1 BILLION GRANT FOR 18,500 NIGERIAN WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS IN SOKOTO

The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, has officially launched a major economic empowerment programme for women, funded by a N1 billion grant from the Tony Elumelu Foundation.

The initiative, a collaboration between the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) and the Tony Elumelu Foundation, aims to directly support 18,500 women traders and small-scale business owners across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

During the launch event in Sokoto State, the First Lady represented by Wife of the Executive Governor of Sokoto State Dr. Fatima Ahmed Aliyu, emphasized that the programme is designed to bolster the entrepreneurial spirit of Nigerian women. “This is not a loan. It is a grant and a seed of renewed hope to help you recapitalize your existing businesses,” she stated. “It is my firm belief that when you empower a woman, you empower a household, a community, and indeed, a nation.”

Under the programme, 500 pre-selected women from each state and the FCT will receive a direct grant of N50,000 each to strengthen and grow their small businesses. Dr Fatima presented the first grants to some of the 500 beneficiaries from Sokoto State at the event on behalf of First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The First Lady expressed profound gratitude to the Tony Elumelu Foundation for its significant contribution, urging that “this act of generosity inspire many more across our nation.”

She also thanked the Governor of Sokoto State, His Excellency Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, and his wife, Her Excellency Hajiya Fatima Ahmed Aliyu, for their support in facilitating the programmes of the Renewed Hope Initiative.

The event witnessed by dignitaries across board including wife of the State Deputy Governor, concluded with the formal flag-off of the empowerment programme, which is expected to provide a significant economic boost to thousands of women-led businesses nationwide.

All these people will collect money and still vote for opposition. If people don't want you, they don't want you.

You destroy the economy and then try to act as savior. Highest these will people get is N10,000 or N20,000 each, organizers and party members take the rest and empower themselves.
Re: First Lady Launches ₦1 Billion Grant For 18,500 Women Entrepreneurs In Sokoto by Brendaniel:
The same woman who shouted on a fellow senator, asking him "are you opposition? " all because the senator wanted something to be done by the senate about Buhari's failure on tackling insecurity when about 100 rice farmers were beheaded in Borno, all because she wanted to be first lady, 1 man alone had about 10 of his sons beheaded right in front of him, Boko haram kept him alive to live with the trauma, she fought against the senate doing anything to help.

This woman and her husband played dirty politics with the lives of Nigerians for their political ambition but here she is today claiming fake love because she wants to get back into Aso rock in 2027.

Nice one.

This is good. So far it’s getting to the right people.

Their governors should match what the First Lady did so the money can be more than that for each beneficiaries.

Hmmm...1 billion here and there. These donations can't fix the poverty issue in the country. You are in government, you are in the best position to make the policies that will make businesses thrive and have people lifted out if poverty. Governments do give grants but without the right policies and enabling environment these donations are just not going to be effective. If you were a private citizen donating here and there I would not fault you coz you have no power to make policies.

If she does it in the North — It’s because of votes

If she does it in the SW — It’s nepotism.

Una no even sabi una problem for una opposition domain. If this will secure Tinubu votes in Sokoto, then more of it.

What can 50000 do under this Tinubu, you make life unbearable and then provide stipend to make you look like saviour. Only a fool will not understand this strategy of BAT and his cronies.

She didn't go there In person for fear of being attacked by boko haram terrorists and bandits , that's how bad the security situation is in sokoto state and her husband isn't doing anything about it .

Tinubu has failed and no amount of bribe through this questionable scheme will make the north to vote for him in 2027. They will collect his money and vote for another presidential candidate in 2027.

El rufai was is Imo state some days ago and he told everyone that he enjoyed his stay.

About 102 northerners were slaughtered during the weekend and I didn't see you come out to condemn it because to you and your useless president , Nigerian lives don't matter , but don't worry, you people will be so disgraced in 2027.

Your president has started shopping for another INEC chairman replacement because of fear that the current chairman will work against his re-election . I laugh, I can assure you that any INEC chairman that tinubu appoints to replace Mahmoud will surely work against his favour , I can assure you that.

For someone who is not a public office holder, Remi Tinubu has been fantastic. Arguably the best first lady this nation has ever had. Before you say she's using public funds; no she's not. Her initiative source for fundings from private citizens and the private sector like this one which she collaborated with Tony Elumelu Foundation. Only someone with an extensive network and clout both locally and internationally can pull off this kind of stuff.

Question is: what are other public office holders doing with their allocations? Governors, senators, ministers etc.

If half of our public office holders can be as innovative and proactive like her, it will solve a big chunk of our problem.

Don't be clever by half. She rarely goes to these launches of her initiative. Some of the ones she launched in the SS, NE, SW, and SE, she didn't attend.

lol so Tinubu is shopping for replacement for a Yakubu that you guys said rigged the 2023 election for him? You have to stay in one place and learn how to run propaganda.

All political leaders of clout already know Bola Tinubu don win 2027 election, all eyes on 2031 now and we are currently shopping for the Northern leader to take over.

Please READ. The first line of opening post says funded by a N1 billion grant from the Tony Elumelu Foundation
It's the power of influence. When you are big and connected, you'll understand better. Rich people want to donate and do all kinds of things to please you. If you write "twinkle twinkle little star," they will donate billions at your book launch. Lucky to have a first lady and president who know how to make money for us. They did it in Lagos, now they are replicating it in Nigeria.
