GloriousGbola:That is not what happened as narrated by the governor in the video. He is complaining why an oil producing company would not have at least one registered office in the state. As we speak shell has a full fledged office in PH and dem get staff quarters sef. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by raumdeuter: 4:08pm On Sep 09, 2025 |
BlueRayDick:The governor is asking why a company drilling in his state will be headquartered in Lagos and the reason is insecurity because they all fled when insecurity became a thing If Hope in his state that has widespread insecurity is asking why companies wont relocate there, He has his answers already. People cant even go out to work on the first working day of every week |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by GloriousGbola: 4:11pm On Sep 09, 2025 |
BlueRayDick:shell had offices in ph before the 2000s. same fro staff quarters. no one is going to engage on any large scale operation to increase their footprint in a volatile area you work in an oil company. in the exec office. so tell me will your own ogas at the top sign off on a major construction project for office and staff accomodation in imo today? |

BlueRayDick:But the state is not safe nau. Let's even agree that these companies didn't have an office before now (When there wasn't insecurity), why should they now have them? Governors should stop acting like what is befalling their states is mysterious. The state isn't safe and until that is solved, nothing happens. |

raumdeuter:The first thing I said was that oil companies situate their HQ in Lagos for strategic reasons. All these ones u are saying is just u forcing a point. For example NURPC(formerly DPR ) which is a regulator in the industry is located here in VI. Some of the key government agencies they need to liasie with are either headquartered in Lagos or have their operational office in Lagos. They have easy access to coordinate their logistics from Lagos having direct access to Apapa port and Tincan Island port. Majority of the embassies which their expatriates require to visit regularly are in Lagos. Most of the oil companies have their Finance function and Logistics function situated in Lagos. I actually do know what I am saying, and this is not about any agenda. |

izzou:The governor is saying those companies have been operating for years and they don't have a registered office in the state. Does it make sense that a company would be drilling in the state and would not have at least one office in the state ? I am not debating whether Imo state is safe or not. I am here in Lagos and can't claim to know whether the state is safe or not , but the fact that the company has been drilling successfully it should tell any body that the company can afford to have at least one registered office in the state. Do you think if the governor decides to go all out to mandate the company to open an office they won't comply? |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 4:26pm On Sep 09, 2025 |
GloriousGbola:Now u are changing the goal post. Do they have office in PH till date or not? Even at the height of the Niger Delta crisis they still maintained an office there. Nobody is saying they should move their headquarters there. At least I didn't hear Hope Uzodinma say that in his post. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by raumdeuter: 4:34pm On Sep 09, 2025 |
BlueRayDick:HQ wont be in every state. Some of these companies had in PH and Delta, Do you expect them to have in every state? E.g Shell should have in Delta Rivers AkwaIbom, Imo Edo and Ondo? If the governor decides to do that, the company will also decide what works for them Will the CEO of Shell agree to relocate to Imo where he can be kidnapped and beheaded on Monday They are drilling with low level workers. Dangote is sending his drivers all over Nigeria even in terrorized state but he will not relocate his own HQ or family to those places |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by raumdeuter: 4:35pm On Sep 09, 2025 |
BlueRayDick:They RELOCATED their HQ to Lagos meaning it wasnt in Lagos at a point until situation forced them into safer areas |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 4:36pm On Sep 09, 2025 |
raumdeuter:Did we watch different videos? Hope Uzodinma lamented about the oil companies not having a registered company in Imo state. Is registered company and headquarters the same thing? |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 4:39pm On Sep 09, 2025 |
raumdeuter:I am telling u that there are oil companies who right from time had their HQ in Lagos; not that they relocated to Lagos. Such companies have their headquarters in Lagos due to the strategic reasons which I mentioned earlier. Some even take it further by having another office in Abuja where they are close to seat of power and can lobby government policies in their favour. |

izzou: BlueRayDick:You're both right. I belong to a union in my field, and the few benefits we enjoy today were championed by the union. Without union, workers will be sitting ducks, and employers go dey prey on them, and do dem anyhow. Unionism serves as a check against unfair work practices and excesses of employers. Na just the annoyance of buying fuel at #1200 vex me to drop that post. |

Qatar hosts the largest US military base in the entire Middle East, as part of a "security guarantee." But that very air base coordinated today's Israeli airstrike on a civilian location in the middle of Qatar's capital Doha, a city of 1.5 million people. That is why nothing beats national sovereignty, and anyone who trusts the USA for any reason is a massive idiot. Stop hosting US military bases in your countries and work toward developing your own ringfenced solutions for food, healthcare, and defence. If you keep relying on them, the Americans will inevitably stab you in the back like the scorpion in the story of the scorpion and the frog. It's just their nature. - David Hundeyin |

Ellexy:I don't know why you are quoting me. The Hamas leaders IDF attempted to assassinate are alive. Ask Trump why he swore to the Emir of Qatar that Satanyahu will not make a mistake to strike Qatar again. The f**l had one chance and bungled an opportunistic sucker punch. Failure pro max! We are waiting for the 🤡 to target a NATO country, Turkey, so we can know whether Article 5 is worth the paper it's written on. -Lord |

semid4lyfe:I understand jare. I learnt Dangote and the union have signed MoU and the union have called off their strike. Once again it has been proven that strike is the only language the government and employers understand in this country. The association of resident doctors commenced 7 days warning strike in FCT yesterday after the governmenf failed to have a dialogue with them and address their pain points. I'm sure when the thing turn to full blown strike leading to death of patients due to the doctors downing tools, the average Nigerian on the street will blame the union of doctors and not the government. |
