Qatar Denies Visa Restrictions On Nigerians by Omooba77(op): 5:27pm On Sep 10, 2025
The Qatari Ministry of Interior has dismissed reports claiming that it imposed new visa restrictions on Nigerian passport holders.

A ministry official told the BBC Pidgin on Wednesday that there are no restrictions on Nigerians seeking to visit Qatar.

Social media reports had alleged that Qatari authorities introduced a travel ban preventing male applicants from entering the country unless they were travelling with their families.

The reports also claimed that only women or families could apply for visas, with additional requirements of a five-star hotel booking and a return flight ticket before applying for a travel or transit visa.

According to the viral reports, the notification cited frequent cases of overstays by Nigerian travellers as the reason.

However, according to the BBC, Hayya, Qatar’s digital platform for e-visa services, clarified that the visa application process remains unchanged.

“There has been no suspension or changes to the current procedures. If any updates are to be made, they will be announced on our official platforms,” it stated.

Qatar has seen increased visits from Nigerians in recent years, partly due to the diplomatic spat between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates between 2021 and 2024, which led to visa restrictions and suspension of flights.

I got similar response from the Qatari Tourism department today that their policy remains the same for Nigerians..
But Is there no limit obedients can't go to tarnish the image of this country? This is no more politics but wickedness. If you are doing these because you hate Tinubu how would this affect him personally? Why must you destroy the country because of hatred? Will this guarantee people will now vote for your packaged fraud?
The Government must santion every media house that published the fake news offline or online without verification. We need to have some checks and balances in place. Nobody should be allowed to destroy the country because some agreived politicians are sponsoring them. All people involved such be punished. Enough of this craziness.

When Daily Post and other fake media outlets published the obedient sponsored lie, did they quote the Qatari Immigration or Tourist department as their source? I read the fake news in the morning and it doesn't have any reliable source from any department of Qatari Government. Shame on obedients.

Why must you people blame everything on obedients. It can be a news leak from Qatar, it could come from anywhere.
A few years ago tinibu went to Dubai came back and said the visa ban had been lifted only for Dubai to come out and say it has not been lifted was it also obidients that time. World politics is a game that these leader play among their selves.

Re: Qatar Denies Visa Restrictions On Nigerians by jobark: 9:01am On Sep 11, 2025
Qatar has tried to use the silent treatment to cover up this ongoing restriction but i guess the media rounds pushed them to make this statement. If you check, you would not even see this denial on any of their official channels or press statements.

In clear terms this is what is ongoing
1. Unofficially, Qatar stopped attending to applications submitted by individuals and only honoured applications through travel agents. You could apply on hayya yourself and get approved but people noticed that their applications stayed on pending without an approval or rejection.

2. Unofficially they now moved to stop processing applications for men (married or not) if you are traveling alone. Once you submit through an agent with family members on the trip, they will give you visa.

3. It’s sad the Qatar cannot openly come out to say what they want and if you send inquiries to official channels, they will tell you to apply and Qatar is open to everyone.

4. Even in the case where they state if you have uk visa etc you can get ETA. It seems as long as your passport in Nigeria, they will probably not want to honour this arrangement

If you don’t want people to come, don’t miss lead them to buying tickets, booking hotel and then at the middle you do not issue visa.

The part that says even pending applications are affected is really disappointing.
