These Phones truly are good at this price range but I for one will not buy Redmi 15C.

I'll rather go for TECNO SPARK 40 series especially because it has mind blowing features. Especially the AI features they pack full the Phone. Redmi 15C no get AI and other things. Samsung would have been a good choice but naaayyy Samsung is a no no at this point. Too many issues

Samsung and Redmi pushing out Phones that don't have AI in 2025 just amuses me. Like why? How?

Other brands are measuring up and taking the lead and still at same price range yet they're still giving almost same thing without any real upgrade.

I'll rather use same money and buy Spark 40 where I'll enjoy AI and many amazing features jare

FreeLink is underrated. Imagine making calls offline when the network fails. I like how the SPARK 40 offers a real solution for our everyday Nigerian issues. Samsung disappointed me with this one. Their Samsung A07 still comes with only 25W charging in 2025. Big 2025 oo. That’s too slow. Redmi 15c, on the other hand, feels bulky but doesn’t really bring anything new, just the same old features.

FreeLink will not be useful if other phone users can't connect to it. besides the rage is short. It will be a function that's rarely used.

People said the same thing about hotspot and Bluetooth when they first came out, that it won’t be useful. Now look at how essential they are. FreeLink is not meant to replace your SIM or data, it’s a backup for when network fails and that’s something Nigerians face every day. And the short range is intentional because it’s for close contact calls in urgent situations, not for long distance. I'm very sure adoption will spread as more Spark models roll out with the feature, just like iMessage, AirDrop and even ShareIt did. Small beginnings don’t mean it’s useless; I just hope Nigerians see the light soon.

Tecno all the way
MarkWallace:
The best Budget phones Under N150k

if you're eyeing some solid budget smartphones under 150,000 naira that can handle your daily grind, the TECNO SPARK 40, Samsung Galaxy A07 and Xiaomi Redmi 15C are some of the fresh contenders that launched. They are entry-level 4G phones for people who need reliable telephone use like calling, browsing, social media, streaming and lightweight gaming as well.

SPARK 40

The TECNO SPARK 40 is the slimmest among these devices justat 7.7mm making it comfortable to hold compare to others. It boasts an impressive 45W fast charging which is rare to find in this price segment. Its 5200mAh battery can last up to 3 days just like a 6000mAh battery. Actually an average person needs not more than 5000mAh for a full day of use. What is more important is how well a battery an the OS is optimized.

Another great thing the SPARK 40 has over other is AI suite, powered by Ella assistant, includes AI Writing for drafting quick emails or notes, AI Translate for switching between Pidgin, Yoruba, or English on the fly, and AI noise reduction for clearer calls in noisy markets and AI problem solving.
The Spark 40’s FreeLink technology lets you make calls or send messages up to 500m via Bluetooth to other Tecno devices, no internet or network needed. Imagine staying connected in rural areas or during network blackouts. This is a game-changer for Nigeria’s inconsistent network zones.

Galaxy A07

The Galaxy A07 is Samsung's cheapest 2025 phone so far, which costs N153,000. It is also powered by the MediaTek Helio G99 which is an advantage it has over every other phone here. However it has the weakest battery among them-5000mAh battery with a 25W fast charging- For camera, it has the 50MP main and the 8MP front is fine for selfies.

Redmi 15C

The Redmi 15C is a newly launched budget phone, a successor to the Redmi 14c but has attracted lot of criticism online, many say it no upgrade except for it battery. It also bulkier compared to it predecessor and what brand like TECNO is offering. Many were expecting at least that they Xiaomi will include AI on the phone, but it is what it is. It is powered by the Helio G81 just like the SPARK 40 but many reviewers complained that the HyperOS is sluggish and not as responsive as other devices.
Looking at these 3 devices, the Tecno Spark 40 can easily pass as the best overall budget to buy- It is slim, it a good camera, good battery life, and the addition of AI is icing on the cake.

I hope y'all know that the redmi 15c comes with Gemini pre-installed. Doesn't that stands as an AI? Lol
