A married man and a married woman were publicly humiliated for allegedly engaging in adultery. The couple was made to sit on the ground and later paraded through the village by angry residents. Very sad! Adultery is sin and or crime in almost all African societies. Ironically it is one of the commonest crimes in all these societies. Therefore it is very hypocritical to publicly humiliate someone by the same people who are guilty as well. If they had brought out their deities and ask people to swear that they had not indulged in fornication and adultery before hitting the offenders, I bet you that man would have walked away free. The biblical story of the woman caught in adultery and how Jesus handled the case comes to mind here.
