After Hausa, Igbo is the second most populated tribe in Nigeria. This is the singular reason those from the other side are always angry to hear people from other geopolitical zones outside Southeast identify that they are Igbos, it breaks their wicked heart to pieces.

I have come to understand that the Anioma and Ikwere people are smarter in federal politics than the Igbos. The Igbos are too emotional and are easily swayed by politicians.

I don't know why you think Igbos are more than Yoruba's in population when the SW is more than double the SE in population. The SE is not up to Lagos in population. If Igbos are more than Yoruba in population how come statistics say the most spoken African language in the US is Yoruba at around three times the Igbo population? It is the same story in the UK. Those are hard statistics and Yoruba and Igbo travel to both countries at roughly thesame rate. Everything you want to count Yoruba is always at least double Igbo. I am sure if there is a census in the North it will show far more Yorubas than Igbos. If London and America why not Hausa land?. I in fact believe Yoruba are more than Hausa in population or around equal. The economy of the SW is much bigger than the NW for instance. Again the number of people in the SE is less than the population of Lagos state and according to the Oba Yoruba in Anambra there are over 500k Yoruba in Anambra alone and there are still other Nigerians. In my estimate the population of Igbos is less than half or around half of the Yoruba population. The economy of the SW is more than double that of the SE.

Because of the low population of the SE the zone is the most represented in government in Nigeria. The SW of over 55 million have only six governors and 18 senators while the SE with less than 30 million have 5 Governors and a whole 15 senators. Thesame goes for all political appointments. The whole of Yoruba land in SW SS and North central will have a population of over 70 million people out of Nigeria's 220 million while Igbo land in SS SE and NC is not containing up to 40 million people if all of Ikwerre and etc are counted as Igbos. It might be possible for the Hausa to rival the Yoruba in population but I doubt it, Igbos however are not up to the Yoruba in population by any means. There are no Igbo cities in the NC but there are some Igbo speaking villages.

You see what most of you don't understand is that state creation never existed until the British Project called Nigeria was mapped out and even when states were created, they weren't drawn out based on ethnicity rather on military or superficial reasons..
That's why it irks me when some Southeasterns will say am not true Igbo...like can you listen to yourself Our forefathers have been migrating and cohabiting with each other for centuries on these lands but when Nigerian Military Government drew boundary lines on these same lands, you now ingested that as your true identity even discriminating and looking down on your kinfolks in other parts of the lands!! It's ridiculous..
And this is one of the effect of not teaching rigid history in Nigeria especially including the Civil War..a lot of ppl born in the late 70s downwards just think their state ethnic group is superior to their same ethnic group in other states or that though we speak more or less the same mother tongue but since we are in different state we are different!!! It’s disgusting how some of you make bold false claims in arrogance.
Even if you’ve never been to Benue state or read a single book in your life, common sense should tell you that since Benue State shares boundaries with two Southeastern states, there will naturally be Igbo communities whose positions place them within Benue’s territory. The fact that they find themselves in Benue State after does not erase their identity as Igbos.

Gombe is four times the size of Lagos state but Lagos state population is maybe population of Gombe state multiplied by 12.

Besides, I already explained to you in the comment you quoted how past Military Rulers of Nigeria from the North and Southwest balkanized Igbo population and communities by intentionally taking away Igbo speaking communities in today's Southeast to place them in either SouthSouth or Northcentral just to subdue Igbos politically, economically and mentally and to prevent Igbos from ever having the confidence to ever seek to secede from Nigeria.

I did not mention landmass at all. I talked about population only. Then Igbo speaking villages in the North have always been in the North just like Yorubas are in the North. Dividing Igbo's after the civil war does not apply to the North central. The British did not partition Nigeria properly from the onset.

It is water resources that mostly determine population. Iflf you are rich in water resources then your small land can support a huge population. This is true for the SE. However the SW is large and also rich in water resources and fertile land. All evidence including census abroad show that Yoruba is far more than Igbo in population. That is my point.

We have always spread our arms to embrace them. Problem is when they start to distance themselves from the igbos in the south-east because of their desperation to be more One Nigerian than our traducers from the far North and the South West. No igbo man would like to see another igbo man irrespective of locations to be acculturised as a non igbo as is the case with some Ikwerres. At the same time, it's frustrating to be preaching nonstop to your brother to do well and recognise your shared brotherhood. Igbos outside the South East are the ones who need more work to do. Igbos in the South East have always been ready to welcome them back home into the fold with love and joy.

You have no point and you know it. Whether some clans like Ikwerre, Ika, Ntezi, Isobo and other Igboid groups are Igbo is debate that has been going on before the war, over 50 years. Some will say yes, some will say no, but it still remains debate.

Go up north and see the millions in IDP camps because bandits have taken over their lands and homes, then you will know that debate is not land grab

I like that various ethnic groups are bonding across Nigeria. Am an advocate of having fewer states where kinsmen form states and Nigeria having say 16 states max.
However in your description of Igboland/Iboland, there is no such thing as Igbo in Kogi, Benue and Edo states. Except the people of Benin or Edo are willing to part way with Igbanke, its not a land Igbo people can lay claim to.

As for the Ikwere, its up to them so also is Anioma. I do feel if these people accept who they are they should be brought into the Igbo nation to form the Alaigbo state/ Region.
