I had the worst nagging experience of my life today. chai how can someone complain from 9:45 pm to 3:00 am.

What started this argument I don't even know I kept quite for 2 hrs only for me to burst out in anger because I was constantly reminded how I was a failure, how I stole my sister's 5k fifteen years ago, how I spent my own bursary allowance at the university 10 yrs ago, infact all sort of irrelevant accusations where being dug up, it was like a blast from the past and I almost ran mad, not because of the accusations but because of the way those words kept disturbing my peace.

This same nagging experience from the past made me buy earphones all the time, but today I couldn't find any. My ears heard a lot and I bursted out in anger and Spit out painful words, cos I was frustrated by the noise.

Now am regretting my actions, I should have kept my cool. The regret plus the nagging is suicidal. I just had to play a verse of the Quran (yasin) on my playlist even though am not a Muslim (found that quranic verse on my song list). Have you experienced such before? Whether from family or friends or total strangers

Wow! You have the patience of a saint if you were able to listen to someone tear you down for 5 hours! I would have ran mad 30 minutes in! I’m not built for that. I will leave the house if I can’t get peace.

Have you ever considered going back to apologize for the hurt this person may have felt so long ago, which caused a crack in their psyche and made it difficult for them to process or remove the past from the present? Go back and apologize sincerely for all these past faults or failures of yours, and who knows... You may end up saving her from a heartache or something.

It's a hard knock life, so keep your head up, man!

I used to be in similar shoes until I decided to turn things around by apologizing for all the hurts I had caused. Now, I am thankfully no longer in those shoes, and I don't worry about being nagged when I am around loved ones.

This is a fact because , I do feel bad and experience headache anytime I nag

Dear Op try to find your way out of that space before you are affected mentally. People who keep reminding you of your past errors are not worth staying with because they will keep bringing you down when you try to move on and do better. You will keep going in circles and with time you find yourself undeserving of second chance, you will end up accepting the worst of you they know you for as the best version of you.

Something I survived from my late grandmother

The old woman won't beat you but she would nagg till the next day. Food go tire me to chop those days and she go still find ways to report to my parents who were in the city. Though my dad was against me staying with my grandmother unto say I will be wayward cos he thought my grandmother won't beat me when I do something wrong him no no day talk wey I de received pass his beating

There was nowhere in your article that you mentioned that the person nagging was your sister who you stole 5k from, so what apology is he talking about?

You should try and change environment. Cut off people who constantly remind you of your past mistakes.

Once a conversation starts to lol like an argument, just walk away. Don't give them the chance to even start nagging.

Then work on yourself... Once you're comfortable and your goals are ticked, you'll have very little need for this type of people.

Maybe you can consider educating yourself on how to handle emotional bullies

Contrary to popular opinion, running away may not be the solution (If you can call it that)

Of course you didn't provide much context, so I'm making some assumptions.

But I've found that not allowing myself be dragged into some people's drama is always a better option than arguing

Some people FEED on drama.

And they're usually allergic to logical reasoning.

So arguing with them is ALWAYS a waste of everyone's time...

My experience from wife. You are right, nagging can kill, especially when you are tired and need rest and peace.

One of the worst things I detest so much, Nagging! I hate people that nags so much both male and female. Thank God say my wife nor dey nag o, and I dey always pray to God make I nor do wetin go dey make my wife nag at me. Where Nagging starts from a woman is when a Man fails in his responsibility. Nagging could lead to something more terrible to happen in your body especially Cardiac Arrest etc..... it could even be the door opener for more dangerous diseases to have access to your body....You shouldn't trade your peace for anything brother. Always find a way to escape from such.....that's a long hours of continuous heated nagging.....Your mental health must be kept healthy bro.....please

I have experienced it all and yet chose to go back eventually to apologize. I have been nagged by males and females alike so I don't buy into the bullsheet of women being the only ones with PhD in nagging. 🤔
