Totally unacceptable, not just in the F.C.T, but across the country. The manner in which waste is handled is appalling.

They'd replace plastic with something else. The solution is to fix the indiscipline by providing facilities for proper waste disposal and fining or punishing offenders severely
It doesn't work.
As long as it's in govt hands, it will fail loketherest of them.

Nigerians will poo and put in the waste.
Even if you label the bin recycled.

Nigerians are uncultured. We never ever follow rules. From the top to the bottom. Short cut is our second name.

Nigeria problem will start turning around when we start fixing our families, overhauling schools curriculums and activities they will move into adulthood with the orientation bombarded into them. The rest apart from this is waste of time and energy.

You're right but this is a slow deliberate process that will take a generation even though its the sustainable thing to do.

But there has to be other ways like stick and carrot approach. Provide the facilities and enforce the punishment equitably without partiality

Thinks like this takes lots of times.
Learn patience. Nigerians always want quick actions and results. See where we are today.
Desensitisation from colonial mentality that's till controls our thoughts and actions will start from the root.
It took the west years of experimental trials and errors to use religion to colonise our minds. Eg, systematically calling and painting Satan as the BLACK while angels are WHITE. Now,the west call themselves white while Africans are black.
Connect the dots. You are always under the mercy of the white as the angels are seen as saviour while the devil which is black is always of no good.
Hey,do not argue this. This is documented and well researched topic in a discipline in the west. As early as the time religion was used to politically conquer people, they experimented in the lab, used people and perfected their acts and the result is what you see. You are made to disbelieve it. That's the highest form of mind control.
( check the Internet, you will be shocked. I read textbooks and was also shocked)
You see why I said start from the family and it takes lots of years. You educate the mind and what you put there will germinate. Adult minds have finished growing. You can only implant new ideologies on kids, they will nurture and grow it You have no biz with development if you are not the patience type.

So where you wan place Onitsha and Aba?! Onitsha sef top WHO list of the dirtest city in Nigeria but Aba don over take am. The over taking na small o.
You don't know what you are saying. Onitsha currently is far neater than Abuja. Places like Asokoro, Maitama and Wuse have heaps of waste along all the street sending out offensive smells.

Infact waste within Abuja is widespread while that of Onitsha is confined within places like Upper Iweka and few other places.

Very true. It is worse in Jabi especially around Jabi garage. Sewage overflow onto the road and the stench is terrible. Refuse litter the street and human faeces are very much visible. A very despicable scenario

Abuja is one of the worst places to live.

The only place that beats Abuja to that is Lagos.

Go and verify.
Very true

I don't understand what you wrote here.
Am interested in it.
Can you please rewrite?
CodeTemplarr:
Waste is 99 recyclable so why is it constituting nuisance? Simple, idiotic living from people with fine faces. They mix biodegradable and non-degradable wastes and start expecting their slaves hidden somewhere around to sort it for them because of nylon of less than N1 in recycle value. Isnt that idiotic? The scavengers will take the bigger pieces of recyclable wastes like household plastics and leave the stench for them.
Until next farming season before poor farmers come to pick the mess for manure. By then harmattan must have reduced the stench. Civilization isnt about living in fine houses oooo. It is an attitude to life.
