Sincerely speaking, it takes a bold mind from a strong politician to make those decisions Tinubu has made. The man never fear the next election . God Bless Nigeria |

Didijiji:That statement is what put nigerians where they are today, was done in a hurry without planning, people suffer as a result of failure to plan before taking such decision. Removing fuel subsidy is ok, but taking people unaware is a BAD decision. Just imagine you're at home where you leave with family and landlord just notified you of house rent increment and asked you to immediately pay the increment without option. After this experience somebody would come and tell you listen to elder, which elder? The one that put us into this hardship! Which people have not recovered? |

Ezmans:Buhari did not remove subsidy. He left the decision to the incoming administration. Yes he did not budget it beyond June (one month into the new administration), there is something called supplementary budget. Besides, Nigerian had always imported petrol and paid subsidy without budgetary provisions. |

Didijiji:Even your father knows he’s coming back for second term. Stop being childish about certain things, nothing like one term president for any politician from the south at this moment, because they know the south has one term left and they would rather vote a one term person than somebody who promises to do just one term. |

My question is: why are you pushing for this fuel subsidy reform as if it were APC's original idea? Isn't this the same subsidy removal you used for political maneuvering in 2012, when the then government wanted to end it, but you misinformed the public by calling GEJ all sorts of names? You're celebrating what "the clueless man" saw at the time, but you couldn't see. Last time I checked, "the Clueless" had a clear stopgap plan in place to reduce the hardships of removing fuel subsidy, but you did nothing. Honestly, rather than presenting you with a perfect narrative to appear extraordinary, I expected you to show remorse and apologize to the "clueless man" even though he saw the future more clearly than most of you, using the reforms he initiated, but sabotaged by the same people in government today, to boast today as if they were your ideas. I'm sure that if someone had done half of what you did in 2012, the current government would have initiated trump up charges against such individuals or groups. |

Didijiji:Am not sure you are so good in economics arithmetics. Fuel was 197 and Dollar was 470 u Said but u don't care about it's economic effects of 22 states owing salaries, contractors and heavy foreign debts. So u mean it healthy for dollar to be cheap but u can't avoid it. Fuel cheeper you can even see it buy because no money in your hand. It's not about tribal, it about a man with capacity to envisioned and deliver on good policies. Past presidents are ceremonial presidents, Tinubu is the first democracy president that love to do what is good for the people no matter how painful. |

Didijiji:That was the best time to remove it. There is nothing to study about Nigeria economy. It has been messed up already. Not removing it will only make it messier. Do not let bitterness and emotion collect brain from you. As it is,over 70% of Nigerians have overcome the effect of subsidy removal. It is a matter of time we will forget about fuel subsidy,we will forgot it ever existed when we start experiencing development. You guys should stop nagging about subsidy. It is gone for good. All we need to demand for are policies for economic growth. Cry for that not for fuel subsidy. |

Dbegining:Why do you need thinking? All government since Obasanjo have been thinking too much and was never able to remove the cancerous subsidy. So Tinubu need not think because the past presidents already did their worst thinking for him. For almost 23 years they’ve been thinking thinking… |

Lithiumite:no subsidy anywhere, just say you are still looking at the appropriate price to price those product or services We don't have a caring government that will subsidise anything for anybody, if they talk of any subsidy its just propaganda |

phemray:You that's good in economics, explain in ECN101 how Fuel (only petrol) being 197 and Dollar 470 was the sole the reason 22 states were owing salaries, contractors and and incuring heavy foreign debts. What about the billions of dollars in subsidy scam the FG is involved in? What about NNPC that refused to audit their accounts for the past 20 year? What of governors that only exist to share and steal allocations from Abuja. Have you seen any developed country without subsidy in one form or the other, particularly in energy and agriculture? Have you seen an industrialised country without cheap energy. Can Nigeria industrialised on petrol and diesel at over 800 per litre and electricity at 220/kWH? Since to you (obviously a tribesman) Tinubu is the Nigerian messiah, what are his economic plan, I mean his industrialisation plans? How does he plan make Nigeria self sufficient and even become a net exporter of finished goods? |

helinues:Heartless people! After the removal of all subsidies, why are they borrowing like someone on the run? If Nigeria is broke, why are they still sustaining the hefty salaries for government officials? When you introduced subsidies, it should reflect on all arms of government! No just the side of the helpless people. The truth is that, a set of incompetent gang took over government at all levels and are currently running the country in commando style of governance. |
