Adeleke Orders Action On Jailed Osun Monarch by creolehunt(op): 11:23am On Sep 14, 2025
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has reacted to the ordeals of Oba Joseph Oloyede, Apetu of Ipetumodu town, who is serving a jail term in the United States of America over fraud.

Adeleke was said to have instructed the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to take action on the jailed monarch, amid calls by some of the natives of Ipetumodu for the replacement of the vacant stool.
Adeleke made the order on Friday during the State Executive Council meeting.

According to a statement by the state Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, the governor described the development as ugly, calling for urgent action on the matter.

Recall that U.S. District Judge, Christopher A. Boyko, had ordered the traditional ruler to “serve three years of supervised release after imprisonment and pay $4,408,543.38 in restitution.”

US Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Ohio, in a statement on August 26, 2025, said Oloyede led a conspiracy to exploit COVID-19 emergency loan programmes created for struggling businesses.

Since the judgment, uneasy calm has pervaded the town, with the princes insisting that the state government should decide on replacing Oba Oloyede.

However, some kingmakers were said to have kicked against the demand for the replacement of the embattled monarch.

Oba is in prison, give another person the crown but make sure he's not criminal minded like the jailed oba 😂
Re: Adeleke Orders Action On Jailed Osun Monarch by immortalcrown(m):
What exactly is the order that the governor has given? Has he ordered for the monarch to be replaced or has he ordered for the monarch to be set free or has he ordered for the monarch to rule from the prison?

The media will just dish out one vague and meaningless statement to waste readers' time and data. The worst part is that this report is coming from a certified media house. I was reading it, hoping to know what the governor wants in the situation. I read to the end without seeing anything.

Explain, "take action", as stated in the report.

Does the "take action" mean that the monarch should be replaced? Or, does it mean the monarch should be set free? Or, does it mean the monarch should rule from the prison?

Since he will be gone for 3 years, he ought not be replaced. He is still alive.

The fraudster king deserves it. How can a whole oba do four years in jail and still expect to remain king?

But what does the governor mean by "take action" on the king? What action? Is it to dethrone him or to secure his release? The statement is vague cry
