I still find it hard to understand the wisdom behind this infrastructure expenditure. Good as it may be, we have better things to do than the amount spent or to be spent on this.

This road will be very useful to people from the southern part of Ondo state and Edo state

This is a virgin land, I guess. That's going to be a great job. Ilaje kingdom has been sidelined for too long. I can now understand the reason they say coastal highway will open up some places.

The road will definitely benefit some communities when and if completed. My ultimate fear is the maintenance. I would have have preferred if they could just reconstruct the existing roads.

Still waiting to see how 700km road will be completed in 3years..... it'll take a miracle to complete..

We want to be like the developed world but don't want to do the work. Do these guys think that the i-10 and i-20 in America flew down from the skies?

America is X10 of Nigeria or so yet connected by good roads. These skeptics would have left America as a village if you let them govern with their negativity. Nothing is worth comending.

Money that should have been challenged into intensive agriculture and security of farmland, is being used to build white elephant projects. They just want to be like north Korea. Big projects everywhere, poor hungry masses.

Isn't it possible to drive to Calabar now or there is no road presently to Calabar. When the whole nation is hungry and battling malnourishment, it's road that's the priority.

Maybe because you've never been to the north. Northern heads of states over the years constructed dual carriage roads basically from Abuja through Suleja to Kaduna to Zaria to Kano. Obasanjo came and did jackshit in the south. Same thing GEJ. Tulumbu came to open the south with a road that'll make travelling easier, people started crying. If Tinubu doesn't do it, do you know when we will have another southern president that won't pander to the north?

Most road in the country are in a state of disrepair

You guys don't get the argument, fix existing roads that r in deplorable conditions before you embark on projects that won't be completed during your life span.
Also you r borrowing to do a project that will take more than 10yrs at the current speed to be completed, what if the next occupant of Aso Rock decide not to continue on that project especially if he comes in and check the books seeing so many errors, inflated figures and whatnots?


Go to Akwaibom, the Ibom specialist clinic built n commissioned by akpabio, there is an abandoned facility in that complex, when Udom came in, in the transition documents the project was 100% completed, commissioned and opened to the public, meanwhile most contractors were not paid, the second building wasnt fully equipped, they just hurriedly commissioned the first building cos He(Akpabio) was rounding up his tenure as governor.

Cross River and Akwaibom axis of this project was flagged off early this year, Not even 1 truck is on site.
They just graded the surface for their photo shoot n ribbon cutting, and OTILO.

I wanted to align the benefit of the road with the economy of where you are from.

Projects like this are to open up the economies of communities along its path. Once completed, it provides shorter route-to-market for people from the costal part of Ondo to the market in Lagos and even export using the Lekki seaport.

I don't know if Ayedatiwa has been pulling his weight, but I can assure you that Tinubu will complete this project. Go and check his history, he doesn't have any uncompleted project. Not 1.
