Apart from gold, I doubt we even knew we had or what to do with a lot of the resources. Before the white man came.

As long as the best political prophets from the continent like Thomas Sankara, Sekou Toure, Patrice Lumumba, Kwame Nkrumah and co are assassinated, poisoned or violently removed from offices as presidents of their countries.., and western cronies like Biya, Nguema, Campaore, Gowon or Quattara are imposed in the different state houses across the continent, Africa will always struggle to advance .
It is not rocket science. What we have is a problem of leadership worsened by the existence of fake states where different ethnic groups are lumped together to squabble amongst themselves, while the neo colonialists loot endlessly..

Do you know that western oil companies are basically looting Nigerias offshore gas reserves while Nigerians are busy bickering over who gets the lion share from their leftovers!? The economy of this country, the biggest black nation on earth, runs on crumbs from the table of SHELL and CHEVRON. NNPC doesn't even know the quantity of Oil that is pumped out daily from Nigeria.They depend TOTALLY on whatsoever that is given to them as output data from the same oil companies that they are supposed to monitor!! This has been the case since the end of the war because some overreaching army officers, signed off the countrys destiny to some western neocolonial powers..

Knowledge they say is power.. the real power (and wealth) is in the hands of those with knowledge to process and refine these minerals.
Without the means to process those minerals, Africa will continue to be like a farm where the "Developed world" can pluck resources from as they like.

Our leaders are not sensible, they are busy stealing and embezzling the wealth of African countries instead of making sure we have all the process equipment and facilities to turn our mineral resources to refined products that we can sell to other continents. The mentality of an average black man is messed up.
