Majority of we Nigerians are very greedy, our shout and cry is just because we don't have the opportunity yet. Banks and Telecos operator fought over the charges months ago and someone has to brought up this idea and since both the telecoms and banks are control by greedy people, they accepted the terms and since then no more fight. Minister of finance, minister of communication, Senators and Reps member incharge of banking affairs and Telecoms are all deaf and dumb simply because they might have some kick back from it. |

Anything goes in Nigeria, you are expecting me to sue someone because of 250#. What is bad is bad, this is part of government policy. |

When this goverment finish with us eh, you will kneel down and thank God. Just one year in office and see the amount of tax we're set to pay. the 12% annual tax has not even fully digested yet and now we're paying for declined transcation as if to transact in Naira is a luxury now. |

I think the Telcom should be sued for failed transactions, not the banks. Using the analogy above, If you go to 7 ATM ls with no money, you won't be charged. But the Telcom are charging for every transaction. Let's bleed these Telcom dry |

Whatever we suffer in Nigeria is being meted to us by our legislators, executive and judiciary. They get their shares from all these organisations and leave us to pay. So bad that I could lose 11 transactions to the telecomm in just one day for all unsuccessful transactions So painful that this cheating continues as the races in the nations fight for their diverse interests without love and unity |

Like as I said before. This ussd charge is nonsense. If they have to chatge at all it should be per hour or per day. This every attempt is nonsense. It was the same reason the banks didn't pay telecon because of failed transactions. but this tinubu government is only interested in taxes. the problem is very clear that it's not their fault that the transaction failed but there should be a mechanism to calculate and determine each successful transaction otherwise it should be per hour or per day. |

The banks are at fault here with the analogy of the natcoms president. |

I am surprised people are still writing that the banks should be sanctioned. Is it the banks doing the deductions ? The deductions are currently been done directly to your airtime balance as a subscriber. I use the ussd options sometimes for my bank transactions and when they keep deducting that 6.49k without the transaction going through at the bank end or even due to network issues the thing surprises me. It is actually very annoying. |

The service reeks fraud. I don’t go near it as it is a waste of time, money and battery. I suggest it’s improved on or scraped and be replaced with a smarter service |

GTB is very notorious for this.. I don't know why the writer was not mentioning them prominently.. Most of the digital banks won't charge you for USSD if the transaction is not successful. GTB should be cautioned to stop that practice.. what is the point of charging a customer for unrendered service. Even if the system is automated to charge anyone that dial the first code.. it should also be programmed to reverse the charges if the transaction fails, simple. They are just being fraudulent. |

Nigeria's consumer protection agency should wade in on this rip off. I have stopped using ussd for a long time but I was forced to use it 2 days ago due to first bank app downtime as I needed to transfer money urgently. I tried using the ussd but it failed and my airtime surcharged. Network providers will push the failure to the banks while the banks will put the blame on the service providers. Someone should be held accountable for this fraud |

If you try to contact their customer care on this matter, dem go delay you , na you go vex hang up the call Using bank App or your ATM card is better than this latest Telecoms Yahoo Yahoo |

InsteadOf:It's serious scam and stealing from the low income masses .People use USSD as an alternative when the bank apps are acting up or when card usage is not possible. There is also a massive low income bracket that do not have access to an internet enabled phone that rely on ussd. Those are the people that are been scammed of their hard earned stipends. It's equally unfortunate that they won't even have access to a platform like this to air their experiences. I hope the authorities look into it and get it sorted out soonest. |

miracle002:The problem is not from the bank and besides they have anything to gain from fail USSD transaction it is the telecom company that have it all |

MorataFC:Um... Can anyone sue them for matters like this? Customers can't be made to pay for things like this, it's just unfair. Ah, I forgot. Existence has never been fair. That's why I prefer using OPAY for expense transactions. No stress. Our banks too needs to improve their service quality. Who'd be thinking of using USSD when your bank app works as intended? It's like they gain something from the poor service... Smh |

I was about voicing the same thing especially when you make calls, and The voice at the other hand is cracking and sometimes the receiver pick the calls while you're not even aware, and the minutes keeps counting and at the end of the day you are deducted but the service wasn't renderd and nobody seems to do anything about it. |
